Robyn Rihanna Fenty, popularly known as Rihanna is being sued for allegedly using a song in an ad for her Fenty Beauty products without the artists’ permission.

King Khan and Saba Lou, a German father-daughter musical duo, claim Rihanna’s team used music from their song ‘Good Habits (and Bad)’ in one of her Instagram posts to promote the cosmetics line.

In the lawsuit, the duo claim Rihanna used their original music and lyrics, but “did not have their blessing, or legal permission, to use the tune”. Instead, they claim she “ripped it from a music streaming platform”.

The ad in question allegedly received 3.4 million views. They are now suing Rihanna for damages.

This isn’t the first time the ‘Good Girl Gone Bad’ hitmaker is faced with accusations of lifting someone else’s work.

Earlier this year, artist and designer Selah Marley insinuated that the global pop star stole some of her ideas for Rihanna’s fall ‘Savage x Fenty’ show.

“As a young, independent, female black artist, I genuinely feel robbed. I’m not signed to any label… I don’t have any investors. I just have myself and the people who support me. It took A LOT to pull this together & to see it replicated almost exactly with no mention of my name or the work I previously put in is just ridiculous. The first photo is of the recent Savage x Fenty show. The other photos are Primordial Place. What do you think?”

Rihanna, Fenty Beauty, or ‘Savage x Fenty’ have yet to respond to the new lawsuit.

Meanwhile, the Barbadian who doubles as a singer and a businesswoman, is working on a cookbook that will contain her favorite Caribbean recipes that remind her of her home country.

In an interview with a British magazine, Closer, the 32-year-old superstar said she spent a lot of time in her kitchen during the quarantine, and currently enjoys food from her Barbadian roots and “eats a lot of fresh fish”.

What’s more, she can’t do without comfort food and drink like “mac ‘n’ cheese”, Shepherd’s pie, and rum punch,” she said. These dishes have inspired her forthcoming business venture, she said.

Fans have been waiting for some time now for the singer to drop her next album. But, apart from working on music during the quarantine, the singer disclosed that the period also gave her some time to relax.

“I am always busy and quarantine gave me the time to do things I wouldn’t always have been able to do; watch an entire box set in a day, cook, go for walk, It’s important we do little things we enjoy and are kind to ourselves”.

Rihanna was recently certified by Forbes as the richest female musician in the world. Her fortune adds up to $600 million, ahead of the likes of Madonna ($570 million), Céline Dion ($450 million), and Beyoncé ($400 million).

Later this year in October, she made it to Forbes’ list of richest self-made women for the first time. The list, compiled annually by Forbes, details the worth of America’s most successful women entrepreneurs and executives. Rihanna ranked 33 on the list.

Following her hit song ‘Work’ in 2016, the famous musician has evolved into a serial entrepreneur.

Her wealth, according to Forbes, comes from music, cosmetics, and her clothing lines.

Rihanna has sold more than 60 million albums and 215 million digital tracks, according to her label, Roc Nation. This places her as the second best-selling digital artiste globally.
