Controversial media figure, Sally Mann has expressed her disappointment with MC Portfolio, accusing him of betraying the BHIM camp by accepting GH₵5,000 from dancehall musician Shatta Wale.

Sally, visibly upset, shared a video on Instagram calling on MC Portfolio to return the money to Shatta Wale and publicly criticized him for what she described as a poor decision.

In the video shared, Sally Mann is seen holding up a bundle of GH₵100 notes, which she claimed was the GH₵5,000 given to MC Portfolio by Shatta Wale. “Portfolio, this is GH₵5,000,” Sally said, directing her message to the controversial figure.

“As a queen mother of this industry, call me and come get this money to return it to Shatta Wale. If this was the only money you needed, BHIM could have easily given it to you.”

Sally Mann

Mann’s frustration stems from the fact that MC Portfolio, who has been closely associated with Stonebwoy’s BHIM camp, accepted money from Shatta Wale, despite the loyalty and support he has received from Stonebwoy over the years.

According to Sally, this decision undermines the relationship MC Portfolio has built with Stonebwoy and the BHIM camp, particularly since Stonebwoy has helped him gain significant exposure in the music industry.

Sally Mann went on to criticize MC Portfolio for not recognizing the value of the support he received from Stonebwoy. “Do you know what Shatta Wale did for you?” she asked rhetorically.

“Who knew your brand in Kumasi when you used to work with him? Stonebwoy took you in and made you popular. Just look at the social media engagement you received after Stonebwoy brought you into his camp. He’s even the reason you won Hypeman of the Year.”

Sally further argued that MC Portfolio’s acceptance of GH₵5,000 from Shatta Wale was a slap in the face to the contributions Stonebwoy has made to his career. She urged Stonebwoy’s supporters to take action.

“If Shatta Wale worked with you all these years and couldn’t give you the exposure or money you needed, but Stonebwoy has done so much for you, only for Shatta Wale to recognize your potential and offer you GH₵5,000—and you couldn’t reject it—that’s a problem.

“I’m telling the BHIM fans, if Portfolio doesn’t apologize and return that money to your boss, you should drop him from the camp.”

Sally Mann

One of Sally Mann’s key criticisms was the relatively small sum of money that MC Portfolio accepted from Shatta Wale, which she viewed as a poor choice for someone in his position.

“Why would you accept just GH₵5,000 when the same person has publicly claimed to take $200,000? Why didn’t he give you at least GH₵50,000, but instead, you took GH₵5,000? Let’s not forget, the notes he gave you were all GH₵5 bills. Portfolio, you’re an embarrassment to the entertainment industry. You’ve disgraced all of us.”

Sally Mann

Sally Mann’s strong comments add fuel to the fire of the ongoing rivalry between Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy.

The situation now places MC Portfolio in a difficult position, with fans eagerly waiting to see whether he will return the money to Shatta Wale and offer an apology, or if he will remain loyal to his current camp.

As the drama unfolds, it continues to highlight the underlying tensions within Ghana’s entertainment scene, particularly within the dancehall and music communities.

Dancehall musician, Shatta Wale has defended event promoter MC Portfolio over the recent backlash he received for taking money from him.

The SM boss and MC Portfolio, a staunch fan of his fierce rival Stonebwoy, recently encountered each other during the former’s recent trip to Kumasi.

Shatta Wale gifted the event promoter GH₵5K, which he accepted and claimed to have given to some of his boys.

Many fans and critics saw MC Portfolio’s acceptance of the money from the ‘Killa Ji Mi’ hitmaker as a betrayal of Stonebwoy, who accused him of ‘selling out’.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Shatta Wale promised to gift MC Portfolio an additional GH₵50K to the GH₵5K he gave him during their meeting.

The dancehall musician rubbished claims that the event promoter ‘sold out’.

The Shatta Movement leader explained that he wanted to gift the MC the money to show his detractors that he only showed respect for the industry when he accepted the GH₵5K.

“MC portfolio, I want to add 50k Ghc to the 5000 for them to know you didn’t sell out anyone… You just showed the industry what respect is.”
