Self-styled Dancehall King, Shatta Wale, has asserted that he has played a vital role in curbing crime and fostering peace in Ghanaian society.

In a Facebook post, the controversial artist highlighted his impact on youth behaviour, insisting that his influence has steered many young people away from crime.

“If it wasn’t for Shatta Wale, the crime rate in Ghana would be out of control.”

Shatta Wale credited his transformation and efforts to the mentorship of his “Godfathers” and his personal sacrifices, which he believes have inspired countless young people to pursue better, lawful lives.

He drew a bold comparison between himself and the country’s law enforcement agencies, stating: “We don’t support crime; we fight and eliminate it just like the Police do.”

Addressing his critics, the outspoken performer claimed his messages are often misinterpreted. “Many of you keep missing the point when Shatta speaks, and that’s because you’ve been in the dark for too long, lol,” he added.

The artist, known for his bold statements and loyal fan base, continues to position himself not only as a musician but also as a social influencer, aiming to bring change to the streets.

Moreover, Shatta Wale refuted claims that he has neglected his biological mother.

He addressed the allegations, stating that he has provided his mother with multiple vehicles and comfortable accommodations.

“That mother you people have been talking about… I don’t think you people have bought cars for your mother before. I’ve bought cars for my mother; I’ve done things for my mother. It’s just that in this life, you win some and you lose some.”

The dancehall artist further explained that, although people have been quick to bring up issues about his mother in their disputes with him and accuse him of neglecting her, he has always provided for his mother, but has chosen to keep it off social media.

He wrote: “Dear @shattawalegh, As CEO of YEA, my mind dey!!! Let’s partner to make shaxi, Ghanaian-owned big🇬🇭 Hear from you soon!”

Basintale’s message followed Shatta Wale’s repost of a video encouraging government and private entities to support and invest in Shaxi.

Captioning the video, the Shatta Movement leader said: “I like how everyone is supporting Shaxi all of a sudden and calling on the Government of Ghana to support or invest.”

“Thank you all for believing in the African dream. Shaxi is not just a ride-hailing service — it’s a movement designed to empower the youth, create jobs, and promote digital innovation within our transport sector. At its core, Shaxi represents a sustainable solution to unemployment and a bold example of what can happen when creativity meets purpose.”

Shatter Wale has always championed developmental initiatives for the youth of Ghana and his new business promotes employment and better the lives of many.

The occasion was graced by personalities such as Bola Ray of Gh One, Medikal and his wife Fella Makafui, Nana Aba Anamoah and many others. Medikal made clear his intentions to support the initiative and urged Ghanaians to support the artiste in his Shaxi business.
