Award-winning Dancehall musician, Livingstone Etse Satekla, popularly known as Stonebwoy has finally reacted after the ban placed on him and Shatta Wale by the board of the Vodafone Ghana Music Award (VGMA) was lifted.
In a series of tweets, sighted by The Vaultz Media (TVM), Stonebwoy registered his displeasure in the board’s failure to meet with their respective managements before the decision was made. In an earlier tweet which seemed like a parable, he said: “The right to be heard is a principle that applies in every noble society. Even the all-seeing God, who had already seen and knew all that Adam and Eve did in the Garden of Eden, still made sure he heard them before he took action against them. #IfTheySoDesire really?”

Later in another tweet, he made his jabs clear and called out the board of VGMA and the scheme organizers, noting that the right thing they should have done was to have a meeting with both artists, before releasing their statement on the said matter.
“Dear VGMA Board & Scheme organizers, I hear the purpose of the VGMA is to celebrate and project Ghanaian musicians and music. If that is so, it takes nothing from you to meet with us the artistes/ our reps b4 reaching decisions that affect us and communicating them to the public”.

Some of his fans who also sighted his tweet were in total agreement with him as they noted that it was the right thing for VGMA to listen to them [Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale] before taking any decision. Meanwhile, others were of the view that, Stonebwoy was being too hard on the board and that he should just let sleeping dogs lie. Some comments from his post read:

Meanwhile, it is worth noting that Shatta Wale, who is known for his swift response to controversial issues has since been silent about the development.
It can be recalled that earlier, TVM reported that the ban placed on Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale by the VGMA board has been lifted following a brawl between the two artists. The two dancehall artists were banned indefinitely from the awards scheme as a result of the infamous brawl caused by the two artists during the awards ceremony in 2019 when Shatta Wale and his entourage stormed the stage, while Stonebwoy was receiving an award. The two were kept in police cells for 48 hours and were stripped of the awards they won that night and their plaques were taken back by organizers of the awards show.
