Talented Ghanaian songstress, OV, of ‘Hitmaker’ fame, has disclosed that her former boss, Stonebwoy, sacked her from his record label without any “tangible reason”.
According to OV, Stonebwoy requested that she leaves his record label, Burniton Music Group, with a couple of other colleagues. She explained that Stonebwoy only worked with her for some months and kicked her out without any official explanation.
OV revealed that she signed a contract with Stonebwoy and that was not the right approach to use to terminate a deal. The former Burniton Music Group signee also clarified that she was not at fault as controversial social commentator, Ayisha Modi made many Ghanaians believe on social media.
It can be recalled that OV gained fame after partaking in the MTN hitmaker reality show where she emerged as the winner of the show. She later signed onto Stonebwoy’s record label, Burniton Music Group.
OV released a song featuring the multiple award-winning dancehall artiste, and began to gain grounds in the industry but suddenly, everything started falling apart. Ghanaians woke up to the news that Stonebwoy was ‘house cleaning’ and decided to terminate his contracts with his then manager, Blakcedi, and singers, Kelvynboy and OV. According to OV, this affected her so badly that her music career took a nosedive and it pushed her into depression.
The good news however, is that, she has returned to the music scene and is ready to thrill Ghanaians with great songs.
OV, who has found her feet and voice once again noted in an earlier interview that she was confronted with a slew of challenges and simply needed to take a break back to clear her thoughts.
Following various rumors about her break, OV confirmed that she is resuming her career and promised fans that she would remain consistent. She revealed in that interview how she experienced a devastating heartbreak that nearly ended her music career entirely.
“I have been working. Sometimes as an artist when we say we are working, it is not always about the studio works… we need to do so much in this music thing so that’s what I have been working on. Honestly, I went through so much and that is the truth. I went through so much that I had to stay back for a while and really decide if I want to continue this stress”.

According to the talented songstress, she weighed her options and realized she needed to continue with her music career.
“I still have it and I don’t have to disappoint a number of people who believed in me from scratch so that is why I am back to do music. What I do best.
“I am ready to continue doing music. I am ready to continue learning but nothing really happened to me just that my heart was broken for a while. I don’t want to talk about that… People really missed me. I know I haven’t been consistent but I am going to try and be consistent this time”.
