Nigerian singer, Rema has called out DJ Neptune for releasing his old song without his permission.

Rema, in a series of tweets on his official Twitter handle, disclosed DJ Neptune went ahead to release his song despite pleading for it not to be released. The singer then asked DJ Neptune to delete the song, never minding the enemies that could bring him.

His tweets read: “With all due respect, chief! Dropped my old record without due process? I’m not happy at all.

“Don’t violate the codes, can’t drop my song without my notice; can’t even remember the last time we spoke big bro. I pleaded with my manager behind the scenes when you all tagged me before it dropped, you still went ahead!”

Rema further warned DJ Neptune not to ‘ride on his humility’ and stressed that he can go to war when it comes to his art.

“This GAME! Don’t ride on my humility, there are some things I can’t be talked out of and number 1 is my ART, if you’re not ok with it then if it’s war, it’s WAR. Don J go vex for me; Baba J forgive me but this, no join at all”.

Rema

Rema further requested that his song be taken down from DJ Neptune’s platform where the song has been published. Mostly writing in pidgin English, he wrote:

“Lastly, TAKE MY SHIT DOWN! I’m going to make new enemies after this, but God big pass INDUSTRY. This game has slapped me too many times on the cheek. I am quiet because I get people interest to protect and a family to feed. Abeg I sabi mind my business but make nobody vex me”.

@Thisismascot: “Never in the history of ‘With all due respect’ comes a respecting paragraph …. I like this dude… He is standing up for his rights”.

@Callmedamy: “See as he clear am with respect. He is very respectful and still disrespectful, I like that”

@Iam_benkid: “He’s not proud, only artists with intelligent mindset will understand. Especially if you have hustled so hard to make it to the top. You don’t allow anyone to ride on you like that”.

@Angel_caily: “DONT RIDE ON MY HUMILITY!!! I felt that”.

@Kvng_aaron_: “God big pass Industry. That’s really deep. At this point DJ Neptune needs to”.

@Peacewalter_: “Y’all stop playing with the kids. They got feelings too. Don’t trample on them like they ain’t sh*t!”.

@Kemi_rale: “Make nobody vex our Rema o. The fact that he is young doesn’t mean he doesn’t know his rights please Dj Neptune do the needful”.

@Ozor_iyanga_iii: “Respect is reciprocal. You lose your right to being respected the moment you breach or abuse someone, it doesn’t matter where you are on the food chain”.
