Multiple award-winning actor, Van Vicker has donated COVID-19 relief supplies to two different hospitals in Liberia.

The actor visited two hospitals in his hometown in Liberia to support them with COVID-19 relief supplies to help them fight the pandemic.

He donated nose masks, tissue, sanitizers, and soaps to the Catholic Hospital in Congo Town and later donated the same relief supplies to the SDA Cooper Hospital in Sinkor, Monrovia, Liberia.

He noted that “it’s always super gratifying when giving some form of support” after his benevolence in an Instagram post.

Currently, there are 4,994 active cases, 2,516 recoveries, and 135 deaths in Liberia.

Meanwhile, Van Vicker isn’t the only celebrity who is helping in the fight against the coronavirus pandemic.

It can be recalled that at the peak of the pandemic in 2020, Criss Waddle became the first celebrity in Ghana to distribute free hand sanitizers to people in his community, Tema, through courier service. In addition, he promised to provide face masks and hand sanitizers to a hospital in Konongo.

Nonetheless, dancehall musician Shatta Wale supplied thousands of hand sanitizers to fans in Accra. Though he didn’t specify the location that benefited from his kind gesture, his fans took to his page to congratulate him for his kindness.

Actress Gloria Sarfo wasn’t left out of this gesture as she took it upon herself to deliver free hand sanitizers and soaps to her fans in and outside Accra.

Also, Celebrity couple Medikal and Fella Makafui donated relief items and food to street beggars in Accra. Fella Makafui further displayed items that included bundles of cash, sanitizers, toiletries among others on social media, and called on the less privileged to contact her management to receive any of their donations.

Musicians Stonebwoy, Edem and Wiyaala, and actress Salma Mumin took it upon themselves to use their social media platforms to educate their followers about the deadly virus.

Meanwhile, just recently, The Ministry of Information (MOI) revealed that the Delta Variant of COVID-19 has been recorded in a community in the country.

Making the announcement on its social media platform, the Ministry revealed that, the variant was recorded in an unnamed community.

“At 10:00hours on Friday, July 2, 2021, the Covid-19 task force were advised by the Ghana Health Service, that the Delta Variant of the SARS-Cov-2 virus has been recorded within a community (ie non-arriving passengers) in the latest round of genomic sequencing.”

The Ministry of Information indicated that to help contain the spread of the new variant in the country, the relevant agencies are taking the necessary steps to ensure the virus does not spread. vicker, vicker, vicker

That notwithstanding, just yesterday, July 8, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) also detected a confirmed case of the Delta variant.

A statement released by NCDC’S head of Communications, Dr. Yahya Disu, stated that the variant was detected in a traveler entering Nigeria, following the routine travel test required of all international travelers and genomic sequencing at the NCDC National Reference Laboratory, Abuja.
