Dr. Palgrave Boakye-Danquah, a former parliamentary aspirant for the NPP in the Abuakwa North constituency and a staunch supporter of the party, has expressed deep concern over the rising incidents of violence in Ghana.
He lamented that these acts of aggression, which often target innocent individuals, are becoming more frequent and are severely impacting the nation’s security.
Dr. Boakye-Danquah highlighted that such violence not only disrupts the peace but also undermines the social fabric of the country, posing a growing threat to the safety and stability of the nation.
He stressed that addressing these issues is critical for the overall well-being and security of all Ghanaians.
“Burning of electoral offices, burning of cars, shooting of people (innocent lives), military exchanges with civilians, burning of markets, civil servants being threatened to move from their official bungalows, others being asked to leave their offices, etc”.

Boakye-Danquah expressed his deep concern over the alarming extent to which individuals are taking the laws of Ghana into their own hands.
He noted that it is truly troubling to witness such lawlessness, where people feel empowered to act outside of the legal framework and resort to violence or vigilantism to address grievances.

This behavior, according to Boakye-Danquah, signals a breakdown in the respect for law and order, which is crucial for maintaining peace and stability in any society.
He emphasized the need for stronger law enforcement and a more robust legal system to restore confidence in the justice system and ensure that such actions are swiftly addressed to protect the nation’s security.
Caution and Reflection Urged Amid Rising Unrest
Furthermore, Dr. Palgrave Boakye-Danquah made it clear that he is not one to hastily express political opinions. However, he emphasized the importance of being mindful of the ongoing situation in the country.
He urged the public to carefully consider the narrative and the series of events that have been unfolding, as they point to a concerning pattern of unrest and chaos.
Boakye-Danquah expressed his worry that this growing instability could have long-term consequences for the nation, and he called for collective awareness and responsibility in addressing the underlying issues.

While he refrains from drawing political conclusions, he stressed the need for careful reflection and urgent action to curb the escalating mayhem.
“As a security analyst, I can tell you that these are really troubling. We know how countries are taken over by people. Let’s all remain calm as a country. Let’s be sure not to set this country on fire with these pockets of violence”.

He cautioned that both the public and national leaders must remain aware of the volatile situation in the wider sub-region.
Boakye-Danquah emphasized that Ghana is surrounded by threats, including the presence of terrorist groups, military regimes, and growing unrest among the youth.
The region is also grappling with a rising number of displaced individuals, which further exacerbates tensions and instability.
He warned that these challenges not only pose external threats but also create an environment ripe for internal conflict if not addressed properly.
Boakye-Danquah stressed that in such a precarious situation, the nation’s leaders and citizens must stay vigilant, prioritize peace, and take proactive steps to safeguard the security and stability of Ghana. “I’ll be back on this subject matter”.
Meanwhile, he also voiced his profound sadness over the tragic events unfolding in Obuasi.
He expressed deep sorrow that the town is grieving the loss of nine lives, with many others injured, as a result of a violent clash between AngloGold mining company and local residents allegedly involved in illegal mining activities.
Boakye-Danquah highlighted this incident as a stark reminder of the escalating crisis caused by illegal mining in the region.
He stressed the urgent need for comprehensive action to address the issue of illegal mining, which has not only fueled violence and conflict but also undermined the social and economic stability of communities.
