I’m the General Secretary of PNC- Janet Nabla on suspension

General Secretary of the People’s National Convention (PNC), Janet Nabla

The General Secretary of the People’s National Convention (PNC), Janet Nabla, has asked the public to dismiss reports suggesting she has been suspended from the party.

Responding to the statement issued by the Chairman of the PNC, Moses Dani Baah, on Sunday August 29, 2021 which said the general secretary has been suspended for gross misconduct, she stated that they had no right to do that.

“They don’t have any onus in PNC, they don’t have any power and nobody should respond to them. I am the general secretary of the PNC.

“And then I will continue to be the general secretary of the PNC. I will make sure the Chairman and the 2020 flagbearer do what the constitution of PNC says they should do”.

Janet Nabla further said the purported National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting over the weekend which arrived at the decision to sack her did not form a quorum to warrant her suspension.

“Apasera and Dani Baah, I am not answerable to them. The constitution makes me answerable to the National Executive Committee but NEC did not say it. That was not the party’s meeting, they just did it family and friends because they didn’t constitute a quorum to be able to decide that I am sacked, so am not sacked.”

Janet Nabla also accused the flagbearer of the Party, Mr. David Apasera of corruption and party funds embezzlement. She revealed that the party’s money was taken without her consent and attributed it to the reason why they want to suspend her.

“Every money that we put in the party account he took it without my knowledge. I reported to the regional crime office that,;this is what is happening so I am sending a petition to EOCO to do an audit on our accounts. 2020 elections, he took GHC1.7 million from the accounts without my knowledge.

“They called a meeting trying to get the party members to vote against me;but unfortunately for them it was only six chairmen who took the bribe and their number does not constitute the required… so there was no NEC meeting to take any decision so you cannot sack anyone. Why are they doing all these things? Because of money, because of corruption”.

PNC on General Secretary dismissal

The People’s National Convention (PNC) announced that its General Secretary,;Madam Janet Asana Nabla, has been suspended indefinitely for gross misconduct and insubordination.

The General Secretary has been under backlash in recent weeks after she allegedly went behind the back of her superiors to write to the Electoral Commission to nullify the election of 14 executives of the party.

In a release by the Party Chairman,;the affected executives aggrieved, petitioned the Disciplinary Committee of the Party to sanction the General Secretary, accusing her of incompetence.

The Disciplinary Committee of the Party said it called for the General Secretary to answer for her conduct and stewardship but unfortunately, she snubbed the Committee by refusing to appear before the Disciplinary Committee despite several attempts.

The party noted that though a painful decision, the NEC of the PNC deems it appropriate to adopt the decision. This, they explained, is to protect the image of the party in the midst of all the negative press surrounding the party emanating from the conduct of the General Secretary Madam Janet Nabla.
