New Patriotic Party (NPP) Presidential hopeful, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, has claimed his wife, Stella Wilson Agyapong, is unfit to be Ghana’s First Lady.
Unfortunately, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, incurred his wrath on her, in her attempt to shield a supposedly corrupt health worker, who exploited a woman at a government hospital. On the account of the Assin Central Member of Parliament (MP), a woman he had met at a public place, walked up to him and narrated how a corrupt nurse, was pocketing money at a hospital in Ghana.
“A woman I met, detailed how a nurse who was attending to her friend’s daughter, wrote a wrong receipt for her and how she took her on for writing a receipt of GH¢40, when she had paid GH¢250 at the hospital…my wife who was there with me and knowing me very well, urged the woman not to mention the name of the hospital to me, that is why I say she’s corrupt. I would have easily called out the hospital in today’s interview in Kumasi.”

The MP who called his wife corrupt, also announced that he will be quick to sack her, if she carries the same attitude during his time as President of Ghana.
“She is corrupt, she used to be very principled when she returned to Ghana from the United States……do you know why my wife is corrupt?..how do you change the nation with this? You want to be First Lady, I will sack you without hesitation with this attitude…was that her attitude when she was living abroad?”

According to Kennedy Agyapong, his beloved wife who spent years working abroad, should have known better by not standing in his way, especially when he had plans of naming and shaming the culprit to serve as a warning to others. He claimed to have been very disappointed in his wife, for shielding a wrong done and rebukes her, for such actions.
Ken Agyapong Rejects EC’s Cl On Ghana Card Only For Voter Registration
On the other hand, Assin Central Member of Parliament, Kennedy Agyapong, has signaled his opposition to a Constitutional Instrument (CI), seeking to make the Ghana Card, the sole Identification document for registration of new voters.
The CI, proposed by the Electoral Commission (EC), is currently before Parliament with strong opposition from the Minority Caucus, whereas the Majority Caucus have supported same. Kennedy Agyapong, made his views known on the matter in an interview.
“For Americans, even Ghanaians who have naturalized, they are so proud to hold an American passport. Ghana has people taking bogus decisions and I wonder those who sit there and take such decisions. That a whole Ghana passport, you claim that to register to vote, we won’t allow use of the Ghana passport, we have lost our identity to National Identification,… what?”
He reiterated his strict opposition to the move asking, “what makes me know I am a Ghanaian? It is my passport.” He also rejected the EC’s explanation, that a lot of non-Ghanaians are holding the Ghanaian passport, “same is the case with these Ghana Cards,” he challenged.
There are claims to amend the current law to make the Ghana Card, the sole proof of identification for registration of new voters, removing the existing options of the use of passports and the guarantor system.
