NDC Calls for Support to ‘Reset’ Ghana Ahead of Campaign Launch

Former President John Dramani Mahama, NDC Flagbearer and Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, NDC Running Mate

The General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Fifi Fiavi Kwetey has called on Ghanaians to join the opposition party in its campaign to reset Ghana.

The chief scribe of the opposition party, in a rallying call, strongly pointed out that the launch of the party’s National Campaign in Tamale on Saturday, July 27th, 2024 is the beginning of a new chapter aimed at rescuing Ghana from what he described as years of mismanagement and corruption under the current administration.

In his impassioned remarks, Mr Kwetey underscored the urgency and critical nature of the moment, urging all citizens to unite in the face of economic hardship and political malpractice.

”The Moment We’ve All Been Waiting For! Get ready, Ghana! The journey to RESET our beloved nation begins NOW! Join us to deliver our nation from 8 years of economic mismanagement, unbridled levels of corruption, nepotistic family and friends governance, unchecked impunity, and blatant disregard for the people”.

The Stakes of the 2024 Election

Emphasizing the significance of the 2024 General Elections, Mr Kwetey opined that the launch of the opposition party’s campaign is framed as a decisive battle against the current administration’s failings.

He highlighted several key failings of the New Patriotic Party administration, including the “gross arrogance of power” and the “plundering of state assets and resources”.

The National Democratic Congress former Member of Parliament for Ketu South Constituency in the Volta Region further painted a stark picture of a country suffering under the weight of systemic corruption and called for an end to the “grand state capture” he believes has characterized the ruling New Patriotic Party’s tenure.

NDC’s Leadership and Vision

Moreover, the National Democratic Congress General Secretary also spotlighted the leadership of former President John Dramani Mahama, the party’s presidential candidate, and his running mate, Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang.

Both figures, he contended are positioned as the beacons of change, leading the charge for the transformation that the NDC promises.

“Join us alongside H.E. John Mahama and Prof. Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang as they lead the charge for the change we all seek as a nation”, Mr Kwetey urged.

He appealed to the spirit of unity and resilience among Ghanaians, framing the upcoming election as a chance to restore the country’s dignity and prosperity.

As the National Democratic Congress prepares for its official campaign launch on Saturday, July 27th, 2024, the party aims to galvanize support across the country, mobilizing citizens to stand against what it sees as the misdeeds of the current administration.

Mr  Kwetey’s statement sets the tone for a vigorous campaign, one that promises to confront issues head-on and offer a hopeful vision for Ghana’s future.

In an earlier statement, Sammy Gyamfi Esq., the National Communications Officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) outlined a significant shift in the party’s campaign strategy ahead of the 2024 December 7th general elections.

According to Lawyer Sammy Gyamfi, the opposition party intends to move away from the traditional large rallies and adopt a more grassroots and community-focused approach.

Lawyer Sammy Gyamfi further pointed out that the National Democratic Congress’s decision to prioritize retail campaigning is intended to ensure that the party’s message of hope and transformation reaches every household.
