According to Richard Ahiagbah, the Director of Communications for the New Patriotic Party, which is currently in power, Ghana will undoubtedly experience better times if the country continues to support and vote for the New Patriotic Party in the general elections of 2024.
In a tweet, Mr. Ahiagbah stated that the NPP’s “pro-market policy” could create equal opportunities for all Ghanaians, regardless of their background.
“What people need is an opportunity, and with the right opportunity the cleaner you see today can become the Vice President or President of this Republic,”
Richard Ahiagbah
Mr Ahiagbah’s comments follow Dr. Bawumia’s speech in the Volta Region, in which he passionately outlined the party’s commitment to removing obstacles to education, supplying opportunities for all Ghanaians, and upholding the pro-poor policies of the New Patriotic Party.
Mr. Ahiagbah believes the Vice President’s depiction of the NPP’s pro-market stance during his speech in the Volta Region was particularly appealing.
He emphasized that the goal of the policy was to provide every Ghanaian an equal chance to succeed, regardless of their circumstances.
Additionally, Mr Richard Ahiagbah stressed on the significance of the NPP’s Free Senior High School (SHS) program, which aims to eliminate the financial barriers to secondary education in Ghana.
According to him, Free SHS is a special chance for a new generation of young Ghanaians to realize their full potential and tap into their innate abilities, paving the way for a better future for the nation.
He also alluded to the NPP’s consistency in championing pro-market policies aimed at fostering economic growth and providing equal opportunities for all citizens.
Bawumia Is NPP’s Best Candidate To Break The ‘8’
The Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has received the support of Mavis Hawa Koomson, Minister of Fisheries and Aquaculture and Member of Parliament for Awutu Senya East, as the ideal candidate to break Ghana’s 8-year cycle of power alternation.
The Awutu Senya East Member of Parliament claimed that Dr Bawumia is the only one who can explain the accomplishments of the administration and the reasons the NPP should be re-elected in 2024.
“Dr. Bawumia is the very one who can break the ‘8’; he has worked with President Akufo-Addo for the past eight years. He knows where we started from and where we are now. So he has a story to tell. Apart from Dr. Bawumia, nobody can tell the story of the government, and that is why we are all supporting him.”
Hawa Koomson
The idea that Dr Bawumia is not a decision-maker in the cabinet was also refuted by the legislator. She claimed that despite his position as vice president, he is not a one-man show and has the authority to act independently.
“If you say he’s part of the government, yes, but he’s only vice, he’s supporting the president; he has no say. When the president is not there, Dr. Bawumia cannot chair cabinet meetings, or sign any documents unless the president asks him to do it on his behalf; so when he’s in charge, he can make decisions on his own.”
Hawa Koomson
According to the Honorable Hawa Koomson, Dr Bawumia would win the NPP’s presidential primaries in November by a huge margin as it is undoubted that he is the most popular and experienced candidate in the race and that he has the support of the party’s grassroots.
On November 4, the New Patriotic will choose a flagbearer for the elections of 2024.
The other three candidates in the race, in addition to Dr Bawumia, are Kennedy Agyapong, the MP for Assin Central, Dr Owusu Afriyie Akoto, the former Minister of Agriculture, and Francis Addai-Nimoh.
