Deputy Minority Leader, Emmanuel Armah Kofi Buah, has said that the Secretary to the Board of Trustees of the National Cathedral of Ghana, Reverend Victor Kusi Boateng, is running away from his own suit against North Tongu Member of Parliament, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa.

Speaking to journalists, Mr. Kofi Buah, who is also the Lawmaker for Ellembelle said, “you should have seen Mr. Adu Gyamfi in court but instead, you know who was in court? The man who was fighting for the right thing for Ghana, Okudzeto Ablakwa.”

The High Court in Accra has directed lawyers for the Secretary to the National Cathedral’s Board of Trustees, Kwabena Adu Gyamfi, also known as Rev. Victor Kusi Boateng, to properly serve North Tongu Member of Parliament, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, on the contempt proceedings against the legislator.

Lawyers for the plaintiff filed a contempt application against the MP after he was caught on video, kicking an interim injunction obtained in connection with a defamation suit filed against him. Ablakwa had given the pretext that he was on his way to Parliament when the bailiff approached him at the forecourt of Accra-based Metro TV to be served with Rev. Kusi Boateng’s writ.

The writ was to restrain the lawmaker from further making pronouncements on the clergyman’s case of double identity, because the matter was before the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ).

The Deputy Minority Leader’s comment comes after the contempt case against Mr. Ablakwa, was adjourned by the court till the service was performed properly.

“The people of Ghana are committed to supporting all the right things he is fighting for. The Minority in Parliament stands strongly behind him. Today, we went to court and it was obvious that the people who took us to court are running away from their own application.

“This is really a victory for the people of Ghana. We are very clear in our mind, we are going to stand by Okudzeto Ablakwa and fight for the right thing for the people of Ghana.”

ASEPA Reports Rev. Kusi Boateng To Police CID

The Alliance for Social Equity and Public Accountability (ASEPA) has filed a criminal complaint against Rev. Victor Kusi Boateng who is also known as Kwabena Adu Gyamfi.

ASEPA accused Rev. Kusi Boateng, who is also the Secretary to the Board of Trustees of the National Cathedral Secretariat of violating various provisions of the Criminal and Other Offenses Act 1960 (Act 29); specifically Sections 251, 215 and 132.

The complaint by ASEPA to the Criminal Investigations Division of the Ghana Police Service accused Rev. Kusi Boateng of crimes including deceiving a public officer, the deceit of a court by impersonation and defrauding by false pretenses.

“We believe that the respondent perpetrated a criminal offense under Section 251 of Act 29, obtained two different passports from the State, two different driver’s licenses from the Drivers and Vehicle Licensing Authority, two different tax identification numbers, two different voters ID cards by knowingly providing false and conflicting information to these public officers to obtain these documentations.”
