Trump accuses Israel And Iran of violating truce

President Donald Trump speaks to the press before boarding Marine One from the South Lawn of the White House in Washington, DC on June 24, 2025.

US President, Donald Trump has accused both Israel and Iran of breaking the ceasefire he announced hours earlier.

Speaking to reporters before leaving for the NATO summit in The Hague, Trump said he thinks both sides “violated it.”

He added that he wasn’t sure they did it intentionally, saying, “They couldn’t reign people back.”

Trump disclosed that he was not happy with either country, but he said that he was especially displeased with Israel, which “dropped a load of bombs the likes of which I’ve never seen” right after agreeing to a truce.

“When I say, ‘you have 12 hours’, you don’t go out in the first hour and just drop everything you have on them.

“We basically have two countries that have been fighting so long and so hard that they don’t know what the f*** they’re doing.”

Donald Trump

Prior to this, the US President had issued a strongly worded warning to Israel against launching another attack on Iran, after Israel’s defence ministry announced plans for strikes in response to an alleged Iranian ceasefire violation. “ISRAEL. DO NOT DROP THOSE BOMBS.” Trump wrote on Truth Social. He added, “IF YOU DO, IT IS A MAJOR VIOLATION. BRING YOUR PILOTS HOME, NOW!”

Israel’s Defence Minister, Israel Katz ordered “intense strikes” on the Iranian capital, Tehran, after accusing Iran of violating a truce brokered by the United States and Qatar.

“I have instructed the IDF (Israel Defense Forces) in coordination with the Prime Minister to continue the intensive operation to strike in Tehran and thwart regime targets and terror infrastructure in Tehran.”

His order came shortly after the Israeli military said that it was now safe to exit shelters.

Eyal Zamir, Chief of staff of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), said that “in light of the severe violation of the ceasefire carried out by the Iranian regime, we will respond with force.”

The Times of Israel said Iran fired two ballistic missiles and that both were intercepted.

Iran denied the claim and its top security body warned that Iranian security forces stand ready to respond decisively to any Israeli violations. “The news that Iran fired missiles at the occupied territories after imposing a ceasefire on the Zionist regime is denied,” an Iranian news agency reported.

Also, a senior security official in Iran told a news agency that after 7:30 a.m. local time, “no missiles have been fired at the enemy so far.”

In his initial announcement about the Iran-Israel ceasefire, US President Donald Trump said the truce would begin around six hours from his first social media message announcing the breakthrough. “If Israel makes a mistake, all occupied territories will be attacked, just like an hour before the war stopped,” the Iranian official said.

Later, Trump insisted that the ceasefire between Israel and Iran remains “in effect” in a new post on Truth Social.

“ISRAEL is not going to attack Iran. All planes will turn around and head home, while doing a friendly “Plane Wave” to Iran. Nobody will be hurt, the Ceasefire is in effect!” he wrote.

Danger Persists

Meanwhile, Israeli military warned that “the danger persists” despite the government earlier announcing it had agreed to a ceasefire with Iran on the 12th day of war between the foes.

Army Spokesman, Brigadier General Effie Defrin said in a televised news conference that the Chief of staff instructed all of the army to maintain a high level of alertness and preparedness for a powerful response to any violation of the ceasefire.

He stressed that at this stage, there is no change to the Home Front command instructions, adding, the instructions must be obeyed.
