German Foreign Minister, Annalena Baerbock rejects Trump's Ukraine War Claims.

German Foreign Minister, Annalena Baerbock.

German Foreign Minister, Annalena Baerbock has dismissed Donald Trump’s claim that Ukraine had “started” the war.

This came after the US President made a number of controversial statements about Ukraine and its President, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, while praising the progress made in US-Russia talks in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

He suggested Ukraine was to blame for starting the war.

He also said that Zelenskyy is deeply unpopular and claimed that US gives more aid to Ukraine than Europe.

In a statement, Baerbock asserted that “no one but Putin started or wanted this war in the heart of Europe.” She added, “We are working with all our strength to further strengthen Ukraine.”

Baerbock is not the only official to dismiss Trump’s claims. Former British Prime Minister, Boris Johnson rebuked Trump over his statement.

Former UK Defence Secretary, Ben Wallace also called Trump out in a post on X for his comments, saying that they were “genuine fake news”, as “in fact, Europe has given more” than the US.

“A large proportion of aid has actually been spent by donor nations on their own replacements of gifted kit. So some large sums are ‘spin.’ The US, for example, has sent only $100bn of the $175bn as direct aid to Ukraine and spent at least $25bn on its own replenishment.”

Ben Wallace

Speaking to reporters after the US President suggested Ukraine was to blame for Moscow’s invasion of the country, Ukrainian President, Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Donald Trump is “trapped” in a Russian “disinformation bubble.”

Trump Tells Zelenskyy To Move “Fast”

Meanwhile, in a Truth Social post, Donald Trump wrote that Ukraine’s Zelenskyy “better move fast” or he won’t have a country left.

Trump called Zelenskyy a “dictator without elections.”

“Zelenskyy admits that half of the money we sent him is “MISSING.” He refuses to have Elections, is very low in Ukrainian Polls, and the only thing he was good at was playing Biden “like a fiddle.” A Dictator without Elections, Zelenskyy better move fast or he is not going to have a Country left.

“In the meantime, we are successfully negotiating an end to the War with Russia, something all admit only “TRUMP,” and the Trump Administration, can do.”

Donald Trump

Trump asserted that former President Joe Biden never tried, Europe has failed to bring Peace, and Zelenskyy “probably wants to keep the ‘gravy train’ going.”

He added that he loves Ukraine, “but Zelenskyy has done a terrible job, his Country is shattered, and MILLIONS have unnecessarily died – And so it continues…”

Furthermore, Trump stated that the war is far more important to Europe.

“Think of it, a modestly successful comedian, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, talked the United States of America into spending $350 Billion Dollars, to go into a War that couldn’t be won, that never had to start, but a War that he, without the U.S. and “TRUMP,” will never be able to settle.

“The United States has spent $200 Billion Dollars more than Europe, and Europe’s money is guaranteed, while the United States will get nothing back. Why didn’t Sleepy Joe Biden demand Equalization, in that this War is far more important to Europe than it is to us — We have a big, beautiful Ocean as separation.”

Donald Trump

Separately, Russian President, Vladimir Putin said that he is ready to get back to negotiations on Ukraine, which is a priority for Russia.

He also praised the US-Russia talks, saying their purpose was to increase trust between the two countries, and that the two sides acted without “bias or judgment.”

The Russian President was quoted as saying that Trump told him that Ukraine would take part in future peace talks.
