GHANAIAN RAPPERS NEVER SOUND BORING – ICE PRINCE

Ice Prince, a Nigerian music artist.

Panshak Henry Zamani better known as Ice Prince in the entertainment world has described Ghanaian rappers as ones to “never sound boring”, something he credits to their distinct accent.

The hit maker of the popular song ‘Oleku’, explained in an interview on an Accra based television station that, the Ghanaian accent is ‘too sweet’ making rap songs sound immaculate.

“You let me tell you something, the Ghanaian accent is too sweet to miss a rap with, and if I could do the Ghanaian accent, Oh my God…if I could do the Ghanaian accent and rap to it…”

He went on to praise some Ghanaian rappers, citing their unique voice laced with profound and richly authentic accent.

“That is why I feel like Sarkodie can never sound boring on any beat, Pay Day can never sound boring on any beat. You know what I am saying like EL those are rappers I really listen to out here. You know I respect their art, craft, and talent and Joey B as well …”

Speaking on the issue that it seems Nigerians have better rappers than Ghanaians do, he said both countries have very “dope” rappers and that the subject should not even be debated on.

“You see this whole rap conversation, this whole hip hop conversation I would not like to go too deep into it because I feel like the sky is big enough for everyone. Inspiration can never be boxed into one thing… I rap, and I sing because I didn’t want to be stuck in the box of doing one thing for the rest of my life. In Ghana, there are some crazy amazing rappers… I was chilling with my man Tulenkey and Kofi Jamal and these two were going off the top. They were just ‘sick’ on the beat…But I mean there are a lot of amazing rappers in my country as well that is Nigeria. I have heard and I have seen ‘dope’ rappers in my country and Ghana as well”.

The rapper who doubles as a singer is set to have some collaborations with some of Ghana’s top artists such as Kwame Eugene, Kwesi Arthur, and DJ Mensah.

Ice Prince, in a similar vein made it known that, he likes to take his time recording his albums, singles, or projects. Although he could easily and comfortably release four albums on the spot, but due to his team and working principles, he cannot just put any song out there.

He also added that when the music is being released “it has to come out right”.

Later this year, he was signed onto an American label; 300 entertainment and this made him the first African to be signed on that particular label.

It is the same record label that holds popular artists such as Megan Thee Stallion, Young Thug, Fetty Wap, and Gunna.
