Wizkid has once again proven that he is undoubtedly one of the biggest artists in Africa as he has made history and broken his own record when tickets for his upcoming concert at the O2 Arena sold out within 2 minutes of its sale.
The show initially had two dates for the concert and the singer sold out tickets for both dates.
Well, due to much clamor by his fans, a third date was added for ‘Star Boy’s O2 concert’ and shortly after the announcement, the singer again sold out the tickets within 35 minutes.
This comes just weeks after he sold out tickets for the same venue within 12minutes.
The excited and overwhelmed artist took to his Twitter page to show gratitude to his fans for unimaginably supporting him.
That notwithstanding, reacting to the record-breaking news, some of his die-hard fans took to Twitter to express their opinion.
Reactions from fans of Wizkid
Popular Nigerian disc jockey, DJ Neptune, via his verified Twitter handle, wrote, “@wizkidayo’s grace is divine! 3 days crusade of BIG WIZ vibes at 02 is unbelievable. Man, just set a new record… Pure #Greatness”.
A tweep, @mercibeaucoup_x, simply wrote, “At this rate, Wizkid should just hold a week-long crusade because how does one sell out like that??”.
Another Twitter user, @iamOkon, said, “Wizkid can announce one straight week of performing at O2 and it’s going to keep being sold out every day and in record time too. Man is too loved, been consistent, and a top performer too. Wembley could actually be next!”
A fan @BigMallyy, claims the singer is the first African artiste to break the record. He wrote on Twitter, “@wizkidayo becomes the first African Artist to Sell Out The O2 Arena in 2 Minutes”
The Twitter user, @obaoriade, urged the singer to hold a concert in Surulere: “By the way, @wizkidayo you owe us at least one Surulere Stadium concert, and I think the time is now!!! Surulere stadium for ‘Made In Lagos tour’!”
@Kelvin: “Dear Wizkid FC Goodbye. As an FC since 2010, I have finally opened my eyes & realized just how overrated my idol is. This is why I’ve decided to support Davido, a better artist. Time to finally have some bragging right”.

Wizkid tour London to promote ‘Made in lagos’
It can be recalled that Wizkid released his popular album ‘Made In Lagos’ on the 30th of October, 2020. The album made waves in Nigeria and outside the borders of Nigeria.
Wizkid is currently preparing to promote the ‘Made in Lagos’ album with his ‘Made in Lagos Tour’, which will take place in California, New York City, Boston, Canada, and Los Angeles throughout September 10, 2021.
Meanwhile, the concert billed to hold in London’s O2 arena, is part of ‘The 02: The Welcome Back Show’ as the event center had been on a break due to the COVID 19 pandemic.
The O2 Arena is a multi-purpose indoor arena in the center of The O2 entertainment complex on the Greenwich Peninsula in southeast London. The event center, which has a 20,000-sitting capacity, is the second-highest seating capacity of any indoor venue in the United Kingdom, behind the Manchester Arena.
