Mahama has no Credible Answers to Ghana’s Problems- NPP

NPP Communication Director, Yaw Buaben Asamoah

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has intimated that the former President, John Dramani Mahama, has no credible political alternatives or answers to offer to Ghana’s problems.

Reacting to John Mahama’s comment that Ghana’s economy is “on its knees” due to poor handling by the NPP, the NPP communications director, Yaw Buaben Asamoa, stated that Mahama is just desperate to rule the country again and so falsely claims to have all the answers to the dilemmas Ghana faces.

The communications director indicated Mahama has been touring the country under the guise of thanking Ghanaians for his defeat in the 2020 election and trying to create the impression that he has solutions to challenges facing the country.

He argued that when Mahama had the chance to rule the country,;he ruined the economy and as such has no moral right to claim that he can offer Ghanaians any hope.

“The former President’s speeches are mere displays of pique. He will be entirely unable to improve Ghana’s fortunes if given the mandate again in the 2024 elections”.

Mahama wants to satisfy personal ambition

Buaben Asamoa, accused the former President of wanting only to satisfy his personal ambition. He averred that Mahama lost the 2016 election because;he and his government had mismanaged the economy, resulting in a great worsening of the plight of ordinary Ghanaians.

“The former President has nothing to offer except to retard national progress if Ghanaians mistakenly re-elect him”.

Buaben Asamoa

The NPP communications director noted;it was shocking to think that, whereas the NDC flagbearer has been claiming;during his ‘thank you’ tour lectures to have ways of fixing unemployment,;it was during Mahama’s tenure that Ghana witnessed the formation of the Unemployed Graduates’ Association.

NPP on social interventions

Touching on social interventions, Buaben Asamoa intimated although Mahama claims to have the interests of the poor at heart, he never introduced a pro-poor policy or made an anti-poverty intervention during his time in power.

“The former President and his National Democratic Congress have fought every single social intervention policy introduced by the NPP government including Free Senior High School, the Livelihood Empowerment Against Poverty (LEAP) programme and the National Health Insurance Scheme”.

Buaben Asamoa

Buaben Asamoah stated that John Mahama and the NDC are yet to deliver one socially sensitive intervention for the people of Ghana to justify their type of social democracy.

“The monumental failure of the one-time premium for the NHIS is a glaring example. They collapsed free maternal healthcare. They delivered a few cargo vehicles in the name of ambulances and up till now, we do not know the accounting for those ambulances”.

Buaben Asamoa

He therefore urged Ghanaians to realize that Mahama and his team are only scheming to regain power in order to resume mismanaging the country. The NPP communications director disclosed it was laughable that the former President was talking about remedies for corruption in Ghana. credible

“The words stand in stark contrast to his actions. Mahama was a walking embodiment of corruption”.

Buaben Asamoa

Buaben Asamoa noted it is untrue of Mahama’s allegation that projects launched during his time in office have been abandoned by the NPP government.
