Veteran actress, Adwoa Pee, has leveled some serious allegations against Ghanaian actress, Jackie Appiah as she disclosed that Jackie Appiah abandoned her at a time she needed her the most.
Narrating what transpired, Adwoa Pee revealed that she was struggling financially after she was admitted to the Korle Bu Teaching hospital in 2018. Considering the severity of her situation, she decided to contact a few friends in the movie industry including Jackie Appiah, who she called “daughter”. However, to the dismay of Adwoa Pee, immediately she told Jackie Appiah she was admitted to the hospital, Jackie Appiah hanged up the call.
“I’m badly hurt… Jackie gives me that respect but, on that day, I don’t know what came over her. I was on admission at Korle Bu, I called her and she answered. She initiated a conversation about our last encounter, which was a good one. While the conversation was going on, I told her I was on admission at Korle Bu. As soon as she heard that, she cut the call. I called back severally, she never answered”.

According to Adwoa Pee, she resorted to text messages after she realized her calls were being ignored. However, that also yielded no results.
“I needed Kalsoume Sinare’s number, so I sent her [Jackie] text messages, but she never responded. I was sad, my own daughter, Jackie Appiah”.

The veteran actress, however, claimed that the narrative was different when she approached Nana Ama McBrown. She recounted how Nana Ama comforted her and pledged to support her at the right time since she had also spent some huge sum of money for surgery abroad.

Adowa Pee however maintained that she holds no grudges against Jackie Appiah, noting that all she needs from Jackie now is a “hug”.
Adwoa Pee Calls for Financial Support
The veteran actress however, called on Ghanaians to help her financially as she needs to undergo urgent surgery. According to her, she has spent all her life savings on medical bills and has very little to cater for herself.
The actress is currently suffering from Spondylosis, a condition that is often used to describe degenerative arthritis (osteoarthritis) of the spine. In many cases, no specific treatment is required. However, if symptoms occur, treatments include medication, corticosteroid injections, physiotherapy and surgery, according to medical experts.
Adwoa revealed the cost of the surgery as she said: “I have compared the prices of some countries to others. In America, we are looking at between sixty thousand and one hundred and ten thousand dollars. I beg you; I need help. I have a problem. I’m telling you now that I have a problem so, please come to my aid so I’ll have the amount for the surgery and get healed”.
According to her, the experience has been terrible to the extent that there is a feeling of overpowering sadness that makes her wish death ends it all for her.
“Sometimes, I wish I just go to sleep and I’ll not wake up. For the past three years, I’ve been sick. It started in 2018; it’s been one problem to the other for three years. It started with kidney stones. Within three years, I’ve been admitted to the hospital 41 times. Ninety percent of these times cost me about GH¢2,000. So just do the mathematics. I received support from donors, I spent all I had on treatment. So, please help me”.
