Ghanaian movie producer, Benjamin Famous

The Chief Executive Officer of Famous Multimedia, Benjamin Famous, has revealed that wanted to feature international actor, Kevin Hart in his upcoming movie ‘Zongo Boys’ but unfortunately, he lacked the funds to make that happen.

Speaking in an interview, the movie producer revealed that his movies have always been filled with only Ghanaian movie stars, however, he wanted to break boundaries with his upcoming movie by including some international stars in the project.

Famous, detailing his story, revealed that he traveled to the United States to hold discussions with one of Hollywood’s best actors, Kevin Darnell Hart, to feature in the upcoming movie. However, he was unable to finalize the deal on the account that the money Kevin Hart requested was too much for him to pay. He revealed that he was not able to get investors to come up with the money, hence he had to renegotiate with another star.

According to Famous, after carefully analyzing the movie scene, he realized that Nigeria’s Jim Iyke can also play such a role in his movie, so, he contacted him and finalized the deal with him.

Famous ‘Revives’ Mr. Beautiful’s Acting Career

In the same vein, Famous touching on an altercation that ensued between he and ‘Mr. Beautiful’, claimed that he was the one who revived the actor’s “dead movie career” after he was shunned by many movie producers.

According to Famous, due to Mr. Beautiful’s affiliations with the National Democratic Congress (NDC), this angered a lot of producers in Kumasi and movie lovers as well. Therefore, most movie producers based in Kumasi refused to work with him.

Famous stated that Mr. Beautiful was banned from acting especially with Kumasi movie producers for seven good years. However, he thought it through, and realizing that the actor is blessed with so much talent to make his movie a success, he decided to bring him back on board.

Mr. Beautiful Attacks Famous at Movie Premiere

It can be recalled that comedic actor Mr. Beautiful was the center of attraction but for all the wrong reasons during the launch of the movie ‘Galamsey’, which was produced by Famous. In a video that was circulating on social media, the actor was seen engaging in a heated altercation with Famous.

Per some reports, the actor was not happy, when upon arrival at the Silverbird Cinemas at the Accra Mall, where the movie premiere was taking place, realized that his image had been exempted from the fliers displayed at the premier despite him being the main character of the movie.

The situation did not sit well with the actor who vented his anger by loudly demanding reasons for the “disrespectful situation”. The comical actor could be heard yelling at Famous and threatening to proceed to his lawyers on the issue.

Mr. Beautiful in a separate video claimed that he could have beaten the producer to a pulp if he was given the chance.

Mr. Beautiful, who was back from a hiatus, noted that he is “back from exile and will not condone any form of foul play from any movie producer,” this, he expressed before the premiering of the movie.

Famous, justifying his actions in an earlier interview, disclosed that he omitted Mr. Beautiful from the movie banner because he is into politics and openly in bed with the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC).
