Soldiers Should Demonstrate A High Sense Of Devotion In Executing Their Duties – Seth Amoama

Vice Admiral Seth Amoama, the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) of the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF), has reminded soldiers to demonstrate a high sense of devotion; commitment and dedication in the discharge of their duties to the nation.

The CDS stated that they must maintain discipline, commitment, and professionalism in all their endeavors and uphold these qualities as a mantle in all their roles.

In his address, the CDS also reminded soldiers about their responsibility in helping Government provide a secured environment for its citizenry.

“Let us remind ourselves that it is our duty to support the Government’s effort by providing an enabling security environment for accelerated national development and growth, and thereby improving the livelihood of the citizenry.”

He encouraged them to protect the Ghana Armed Forces’ reputation for professionalism, both internally and particularly during international peacekeeping operations.

“On the International scene, let us continue to maintain our good image and high professional standards in the various Peacekeeping Theatres such as Lebanon, DR Congo, Sudan, South Sudan, Gambia, Mali and Guinea-Bissau.”

Mr. Amoama again commended the troops for their loyalty, professionalism, integrity, and dedication to the cause of the nation.

That, according to him, enabled Ghana to secure the needed peace and stability despite the prevailing national challenges.

The Chief of Defense Staff (CDS) announced that his priority for 2023 is to increase cooperation among the three services in order to effectively address various threats, including terrorism, kidnapping, armed robbery, and secessionist tendencies.

Benedict Quayson, Naval Commander of the Religious Affairs Directorate of the Ghana Armed Forces, addressed the officers and men at Nicholson Stadium after the health walk.

He announced that the Military High Command, along with his department, had commissioned an amusement center and held an exhibition program during the year.

This initiative, he said was part of a programme that offered their spouses and dependents a platform to display employable skills acquired with support from the Ghana Enterprises Agency.

The end-of- year event was also used to honour some officers and men who had excelled in this year’s CDS Prize Essay Competition.
