Profile Of The New Minority Leadership in Parliament

Minority Group in Parliament

The leadership of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in Parliament has been changed and as a result, some members are in bliss about it, others are still in a dilemma whiles the majority in the NDC are still against the decisions being made by the hierarchy on their behalf with ‘zero consent.’

According to the party, Dr Cassiel Ato Forson has taken over from Haruna Iddrisu as the new Minority Leader. Ellembelle MP, Kofi Armah Boah will replace James Klutse Avedzi as Deputy Minority Leader. Kwame Agbodza is now the Chief Whip for the opposition side and will be deputized by Banda MP, Ahmed Ibrahim and Ada legislator, Comfort Doyo Ghansah respectively.

The chairman of the National Democratic Congress, Mr Johnson Asiedu Nketia puts it forth that the reshuffling was a part of the reorganization process of the structural frame of the NDC to position themselves quite well to fight during the 2024 elections to gain political power.
