An aide to former president John Dramani Mahama, Joyce Bawah-Mogtari, has spoken about worrying developments in the general Ghanaian society with respect to how some men look down on women.

She stated in a June 29 tweet that it was disturbing that such people engage in these acts in all facets of everyday life, doing so without seeing any wrong with it.

Her tweet read:

“Funny thing is that we still have some people who exhibit misogynistic attitudes, dominant chauvinism, and patriarchy without making any bones about it.

“In our society, in schools, in politics, the church, the lyrics of our songs, the workplace, etc”.

Joyce Bawah-Mogtari

One of the most trending issues in Ghana today has to do with the back and forth between actress and movie producer now author, Yvonne Nelson, and musician Sarkodie.

Yvonne Nelson in her book ‘I am not Yvonne Nelson’, recounted a relationship she had with the musician in 2010, which the relationship led to a pregnancy and she was forced to abort because Sarkodie was not ready to be a father.

In his retaliation, the musician released a track ‘Try Me’ earlier this week stating his side of the story but his use of certain words and terminologies was seen as an insult.

The lyrics of the song turned out to be harsh to the extent that some netizens and some celebrities have taken it upon themselves to express to Sarkodie how immature he was concerning the sensitive issue on grounds.

Yvonne Nelson responded to it by calling on Sarkodie to ‘respect womanhood’ and not attempt to decline the pain a young lady experienced; which comment also drew critique facing portions of Yvonne’s book and what she said of her mother.

Fans Bash Bisa Kdei For Supporting Sarkodie

Ghanaian highlife artist, Bisa Kdei, found himself on the wrong side of social media after openly showing his support for Sarkodie after dropping a diss track insulting actress Yvonne Nelson.

Bisa Kdei took to his Twitter page to express his love for Sarkodie’s diss track.

He wrote:

”I’ve listened to this like 10 times. Heeerrrrrh”.

Bisa Kdei replied with another Tweet after he was bashed by netizens for supporting netizens.

He said:

“We don’t have to attach negativity to everything someone writes. I’m acknowledging a song and a rap legend as a writer. Their problem is their problem boss”.

Meanwhile, Sarkodie humiliates himself and degrades women in general.

Sarkodie releases a track to explain himself after Ghanaian actress Yvonne Nelson called him out for impregnating her and abandoning her in her newly released memoir.

A part of Sarkodie’s track reads;

“I never thought I was going on this wave, cause I was ready to take a couple of things to my grave. First of all, let me clap for you baby you are brave but you can’t pick and choose what to say please behave, nobody sent you so Ohemaa if you want to talk, you have to tell the world every nigga that you fucked”.

Sarkodie

Even though Sarkodie aimed to explain himself, he ended up sounding like a classless man who kissed and told. He was bashed by Prince David Osei for lowering his standard and disrespecting himself and women in general.

Radio personality Blakk Rasta also accused Sarkodie of having a fake personality.

According to him, the rapper has been among the celebrities who pretend to have a good personality but in reality, they are fake and liars.
