Renowned record producer and entrepreneur, Edward Nana Poku Osei, widely known as Da’ Hammer, has recently expressed his admiration for the rising Ghanaian music sensation, Lasmid.

Taking to Twitter (now X) on August 1, 2023, the Hip Hop producer lauded Lasmid’s music style as “unique” setting him apart from other artists in the industry. Da’ Hammer also commended the “Friday Night” hitmaker’s consistency and encouraged him to maintain his momentum while fostering good relationships with others to progress in his craft.

He wrote:

“At this point, it’s safe to add @LASMIDOFFICIAL1 to the limited list of true unique artists who sound like nothing we’ve heard before them. The first and last of their kind. The kind of artist others try to emulate.

“This caliber is what’s known as your favorite artists. To earn your way into this list requires that you dare to be different while remaining consistent with a style that has never been heard before. You can’t fake your way into that breed”.

Da’ Hammer further expressed certainty about Lasmid’s potential, believing that if he continues on this creative path, global superstars like Drake might come knocking on his doors for collaboration in the future. He encouraged Lasmid to mend any strained relationships and move forward with full determination, as the world is full of possibilities for him.

Da’ Hammer’s praise for Lasmid’s different musical style and hard work adds him to the list of industry personalities, including the CEO of Media Excel Productions and a renowned Ghanaian music producer, Kwesi Ernest, who have also commended Lasmid’s talent and beautiful music style.

To Kwesi Ernest, a person’s voice in the music industry is similar to an instrument.

Lasmid finally breaks silence on VGMA’s performance failure.

Lasmid, a rising Ghanaian artiste, had a challenging night at the 24th edition of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) despite winning two awards.

After nearly three months since the incident, he has finally opened up about his performance that was marred by technical hitches.

Reflecting on that day, Lasmid described it as a day that didn’t go as planned. Despite giving his best effort on stage, things didn’t turn out the way he and his team had planned. They had hoped to showcase the results of their hard work, but unfortunately, it didn’t materialize.

According to him, he shared his feelings of disappointment in himself for the performance that was heavily criticized.

The artiste won the awards for Best Hiplife Song and Best New Artiste, he couldn’t help but acknowledge the letdown in his stage presentation that night.

He is best known for his viral song ‘Friday Night’ which gained attention in Ghana topping charts after it became a trend on TikTok.

Ladsmid Nathaniel Owusu was crowned winner of the MTN Hitmaker Season 8. Following the contest, Ghanaian music producer Kaywa signed him to his record label, Highly Spiritual Music. In 2022, Nigerian singer Naira Marley expressed interest in signing Lasmid to his label.

As of 2022, he had worked on songs with Sarkodie, Medikal, Kofi Kinaata, Dead Peepol, Mr. Drew, Kuami Eugene, and Amerado.

His fame soared following the release of a remix for his single “Sika”, where he collaborated with the renowned Ghanaian singer, Kuami Eugene.

Lasmid, a multi-talented artist skilled in singing and rapping, is being recognized as the heir to Kofi Kinata’s musical legacy. He has garnered a significant fan base, especially in Takoradi, Ghana.

The young artist is one of the fast-emerging Ghanaian vocal singers, who is carving out a unique career for himself with the help of his distinctive sound, which combines Afropop, R&B, and Afrobeats. He has been tagged as one of the very talented acts to watch out for in the coming years within the Ghana music circles.
