NDC Aims to Sweep all Parliamentary Seat in Upper West Region

The former Minority Leader, Honorable Haruna Iddrisu has expressed confidence in the opposition National Democratic Congress strategy to win all parliamentary seats in the Upper West region in the upcoming December elections.

The Tamale South Member of Parliament speaking to the media following a regional sensitization program by the opposition party in the Upper West Regional capital outlined the party’s strategic approach for the December 7 polls.

He strongly underscored the National Democratic Congress’s unwavering determination to clinch victories in every constituency across the region, emphasizing the importance of a focused campaign strategy to achieve such a goal.

“We are determined to capture all the 11 seats in the Upper West Region. At least, from my briefing and the information available to me, Lambussie is already in the basket. We can add that on. And we are narrowing in on a strategy to get Nandom and we are determined to win all the 11 seats and then also in the Sissala area”.

Highlighting the significance of the upcoming elections, the former Labour Minister under the erstwhile Mahama’s administration stressed the National Democratic Congress’s commitment to engaging with voters in the region and addressing their concerns effectively.

Honorable Iddrisu expressed optimism in the party’s manifesto to lay out strategic policies and programs that would meet the expectation of the Ghanaian voters.

He further underscored former President John Dramani Mahama and opposition National Democratic Congress’s commitment to address the economic and social issues confronting Ghanaians when elected in the December 7 polls.

Addressing Internal Party Issues

Furthermore, the former Minority Leader recounted the party’s recent effort to ensure that all outstanding issues within the region following the party’s internal primaries are exhaustively addressed.

He underscored his quiet yet pivotal diplomatic role in reconciling various outstanding issues that involve some former parliamentary aspirants and the party’s parliamentary candidate within the region.

He particularly recounted his role in resolving issues that existed between a former parliamentary aspirant and the incumbent parliamentary candidate of the party in Sissala Constituency, fostering a harmonious collaboration between the two.

This strategic move, he posited underscored the party’s concerted efforts to unite its forces and maximize its electoral prospects in the upcoming general elections.

The Tamale South Member of Parliament concluded his remark by affirming his assertion that the opposition National Democratic Congress would mobilize support to secure victory for former President John Dramani Mahama and all the parliamentary candidates of the party across all eleven constituencies in the Upper West Region come December 7.

In an earlier remarks, the opposition National Democratic Congress Member of Parliament for Tamale South, Honorable Haruna Iddrisu also called on the ranks and file of the party to commit to unity to deliver victory for the party’s flagbearer, former President John Dramani Mahama in the December 7 polls. 

The former Minority Leader delivering an address during the inauguration of the National Democratic Congress Canada Chapter leadership stressed the critical role unity and committed leadership would play in the party’s victory in the 2024 Presidential and Parliamentary elections.
