Dennis Miracles Aboagye, the Director of Communications for Dr. Bawumia’s campaign team, has strongly criticized former President John Dramani Mahama for seeking a second term as president, urging Ghanaians not to grant him another chance at the presidency.

According to Miracles Aboagye, John Mahama’s bid to return to power is a slap in the face to Ghanaians, who suffered unbearable hardship during his previous tenure as President, after he had already served as Vice President.

The Director of Communications for Bawumia’s campaign team accused John Mahama of plunging the country into darkness during his presidency, suggesting his leadership was marked by darkness and failure.

Miracles Aboagye also reminded Ghanaians of John Mahama’s controversial decisions, including scrapping teacher trainee allowances, freezing public sector recruitment, and failing to post teachers and nurses in 2013/14, further highlighting his unsuitability for leadership.

“John Mahama has been an MP, a minister, a vice president, and a president before. If you can recall, in 2012 when he was the vice president, he told us he was just a spare driver to Atta Mills’ government so we should give him the car to drive the nation to where it should be. He made so many promises and spoke tough. He promised teachers, doctors, businessmen, students, and chiefs”.

Miracles Aboagye further blamed John Mahama’s administration for the surge in divorce rates, malaria cases, and business closures in 2016, attributing these woes to the erratic power supply (dumsor) that characterized his tenure.

According to Miracles Aboagye, the hardships Ghanaians faced, including the stresses of dumsor, divorce, malaria, and business closures, make John Mahama’s bid to return to the presidency an affront and a slap in the face to the Ghanaian people, demonstrating utter disrespect and disregard for their suffering.

Miracles Aboagye accused former President Mahama of failing to honor his promises to teachers and disrespecting doctors and nurses by telling them he had no intention of negotiating with them, demonstrating a lack of accountability and disregard for the welfare of these critical professionals.

Mahama’s Incompetence Worsened Dumsor Crisis

Miracles Aboagye further alleged that despite importing a large number of generators, former President Mahama’s administration failed to provide adequate funds to purchase fuel, rendering the generators useless and perpetuating the dumsor crisis.

“We experienced dumsor for close to three years collapsing businesses. Consider what we are even going through now due to the challenges we are facing. Today, he’s back, asking us to make him president. I think it is very disrespectful and insulting to Ghanaians after all the stress he put us through.”

Furthermore, Miracles Aboagye observed that while Vice President Bawumia’s leadership qualities, passion, truthfulness, and humility are unquestionable, the same virtues are conspicuously absent in his political rival, former President John Dramani Mahama.

Aboagye pointed out that the NDC’s attempts to label Dr. Bawumia as corrupt are nothing but a baseless propaganda effort, which rational Ghanaians can see right through.

“There’s no doubt that Dr Bawumia is respectful and not corrupt. He’s been Vice president for almost eight years in this country with no corrupt traces. He’s the only vice president in recent years with no bad records. His opponent even sometimes levels several allegations against him but none tallies”.

Miracles Aboagye lambasted John Mahama, the leader of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), as a corrupt and incompetent leader, citing his track record of mal governance and unbridled corruption.

He declared that, as a member of the New Patriotic Party, it is clear that Dr. Bawumia surpasses his opponent, former President John Mahama, in terms of leadership excellence, and that Dr. Bawumia’s achievements and credentials unequivocally justify this assertion.

He appealed to Ghanaians to make an informed decision and choose Dr. Bawumia as their preferred leader, emphasizing that he is the best candidate to lead the country towards progress and prosperity.
