Dr. Omane Boamah, Director of Elections and IT of the NDC has praised the keen vigilance of NDC executives, members, and the party’s innovative EagleEyes initiative, which have collectively played a crucial role in uncovering and exposing electoral fraud.

According to Dr. Omane Boamah, the swift actions of the NDC’s EagleEyes initiative led to the arrest of two individuals implicated in electoral fraud, a testament to the party’s commitment to electoral integrity and accountability.

He specifically highlighted that one of the arrests took place in Nsawam, located in the Eastern Region, where an individual was apprehended in connection with the theft of a Biometric Voter Device (BVD).

“Ignore the statement issued by the Electoral Commission regarding the BVDs in the hands of criminals who are determined to hang onto power at all cost”.

“If thieves can steal BVDs, why can’t they steal SD cards? Also, the criminal network can have access to credentials that make the device useful”.

As a result, the NDC stalwart declared that the Electoral Commission’s promises alone are not enough, calling for tangible measures to guarantee the integrity of the electoral process.

Dr. Omane Boamah noted that the missing BVDs have far-reaching implications, including compromised security and sensitive data exposure, which demand immediate attention and resolution.

As such, he harbored a disturbing concern that the stolen BVDs may be specimen devices that engineers are studying to identify vulnerabilities or methods to breach the central system.

“EC, your assurances are simply not enough!” – Dr. Omane Boamah

Dr. Omane Boamah launched a scathing attack on the Electoral Commission (EC), accusing it of catastrophic failure in safeguarding sensitive equipment, as evidenced by the audacious theft of Biometric Voter Registration (BVR) laptops from its own high-security premises.

He pointed out the stark irony that the theft took place under the supposedly watchful eyes of CCTV surveillance, yet the EC’s lack of vigilance effectively granted the perpetrators immunity to commit the crime without consequence.

EC’s Integrity Under Fire

Dr. Omane Boamah lamented that it is a profoundly disturbing development that the Electoral Commission, an institution entrusted with safeguarding the integrity of the electoral process, has itself devolved into a veritable crime scene.

“The second person was arrested over the weekend in the Northern region. The case is in relation to the illegal Transfer of voters”.

“We shall not rest, we shall not falter, we shall not relent until all the election criminals have been exposed”.

The NDC loyalist reiterated his call for accountability, urging Parliament to expeditiously consider the NDC’s petition to the Speaker, which seeks a comprehensive investigation into the Electoral Commission of Ghana.

He stressed that this investigation is essential to ensure transparency, accountability, and the integrity of Ghana’s electoral process, and to thoroughly scrutinize the Commission’s activities.

Dr. Omane Boamah reiterated his earlier announcement, outlining the NDC’s plans to host three public fora and demonstrations as a show of strength and a demand for transparency in response to the Electoral Commission’s actions.

He called on the public to vote for John Dramani Mahama, who has pledged to implement a groundbreaking 24-hour economy initiative, generating an array of well-paying job opportunities and propelling Ghana’s economic development forward.

Dr. Boamah reiterated his unshakeable confidence in John Mahama, lauding the NDC flagbearer’s bold and inclusive vision for Ghana’s transformation, which encompasses a comprehensive roadmap for socio-economic revitalization.

He noted that Mahama’s all-encompassing plan harmoniously addresses the needs of all sectors, guaranteeing a broad-based improvement in the lives of all Ghanaians and steering the country towards a future of sustainable prosperity.

He vowed that the NDC is committed to guaranteeing the integrity and legitimacy of the forthcoming December 7th elections, ensuring that the outcome truly reflects the collective voice and aspiration of the Ghanaian people, thereby upholding the principles of democracy.
