Bullgod Warns Nana Addo, Appointees Amid Galamsey Menace

Bullgod

Talent manager, Lawrence Nana Asiamah Hanson, popularly known as Bullgod, has reacted to the recent detention of protesters against illegal mining, known as galamsey.

He stated that President Akufo-Addo and his appointees should prepare for life in jail after leaving office on January 7, 2025.

According to Bullgod, it is in the President’s and his appointees’ interest to ensure the Nsawam Medium Security Prison is renovated to accommodate them for their alleged corrupt practices and involvement in illegal mining, for which he warned they would be prosecuted.

“Starting from Nana Akufo-Addo to all the presidential staffers, I am giving you a job and the job is very simple; you see the three months that are left, if you know what is good for you, go and renovate Nsawam. Go and renovate Nsawam because that is where you will spend the rest of your life.”

The artist manager condemned the detention of the protesters against illegal mining. He asserted that Ghanaians should be allowed to stage demonstrations as there is no better time than this.

There has been growing pressure in recent times on the government to take decisive action against illegal mining. The arrest and prosecution of some protesters against illegal mining two weeks ago have also escalated the pressure on the government.

On Saturday, October 5, 2024, hundreds of Ghanaians ended a three-day protest organized by the Citizens Coalition Against Illegal Mining.

Organized labour has also threatened a nationwide strike action as part of the calls to get the government to act. They have set October 10, 2024, to proceed with the strike, if their demands are not met.

They argue that the government’s inaction on the issue of illegal mining has led to severe environmental degradation and has adversely affected the livelihoods of many communities.

Bullgod Asks Government To Fly Ailing President’s Secretary to Ghana

Bullgod called on the government to fly the ailing secretary to the President, Nana Bediatuo Asante, to Ghana to continue his recovery.

According to him, since the presidency has clarified that Bediatuo Asante is in a stable condition while receiving treatment in the United States, it would be advisable for him to be brought to one of the hospitals in Ghana for treatment.

The outspoken artist manager stated that taking such a step will help to boost public trust in the health sector with regards to the hospitals because a government official receiving treatment in the US does not augur well.

“I learned he [Bediatuo Asante] is in the US for treatment. We should fly him to Ghana to continue the healing since he is said to be in a stable condition. We have hospitals in the country. The Agenda 111 hospitals are there to help.”

Bullgod

He mentioned some known hospitals where he could be taken for treatment. “He could be taken to Korle-Bu or 37 Military Hospital as well,” he added.

This comes after the presidency released a statement to assure the public that Asante Bediatuo is in a stable condition and asked for prayers for him to aid his recovery.

The objective of this agenda 111 project, as envisioned by the President, is to ensure that Ghanaians in every district and region in the country have access to quality healthcare services.

The proposed project will boost the provision of healthcare infrastructure in line with the government’s commitment to ensuring universal healthcare for all citizens and the attainment of the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goal (SDG3).

It will further be a fulfillment of the government’s policy of a hospital in each district and region and improve the geographical coverage of healthcare delivery in the country, as well as offer improved access to healthcare for all Ghanaians.
