Award-winning Ghanaian dancehall musician Charles Nii Armah Mensah, popularly known as Shatta Wale, celebrated his 40th birthday on Thursday, October 17, 2024.

The Shatta Movement Boss, who recently released his newest studio album, SAFA, has recently been publicizing his latest milestone on his social media platforms.

The self-proclaimed African dancehall king recently flaunted an expensive Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Chronograph watch he received from a close friend as a birthday gift.

On his 40th birthday, Shatta Wale received many heartfelt birthday messages from high-profile celebrities.

Vybz Kartel took a photo of Shatta Wale to his Instagram page to share and celebrate his new milestone.

The Jamaican dancehall musician, whom Shatta Wale considers a mentor and a significant influence on his music career, also sent a short birthday message.

In the caption of the photo, he wrote: “HAPPY BIRTHDAY BRO 🥂🍾💯🙏🏾.”

Over the years, Vybz Kartel and the SM Boss have built a great relationship. They collaborated on the Mansa Musa song from the latter’s 2023 10-track studio album, MAALI.

Shatta Wale was also among a host of Ghanaian and international musicians who celebrated Vybz Kartel’s release from prison after over a decade.

Seasoned media personality, Serwaa Amihere also penned a heartwarming message to dancehall musician Shatta Wale on October 17, 2024, as he turned 40.

Serwaa Amihere shared a picture of Shatta Wale wearing a blue vest, a balaclava mask, and expensive diamond necklaces.

In a post on her X account, she wished the dancehall musician a happy birthday and thanked him for being a great friend.

“Happy birthday, my Gee. Thank you for being a great friend. I love you. You know I’ve got you @shattawalegh❤️.”

Ghanaian musicians, Shatta Wale, and Samini made the headlines after a video of their interaction at Dr. Bawumia’s recent event surfaced on social media.

Vice President and NPP flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia met with creative industry players at the Alisa Hotel to outline his plans for the sector ahead of the 2024 general elections on December 7.

Many Ghanaian celebrities, including Van Vicker, Kalybos, Prince David Osei, Praye Tietia, Samini, Shatta Wale, and others attended the event.

In a series of social media videos, Shatta Wale and Samini were spotted sitting together at the event.

The two musicians engaged in a friendly banter as they listened to Vice President, Dr. Bawumia address the issues confronting the Ghanaian creative arts industry.

In one video, Samini got Shatta Wale laughing after he jokingly referred to him as a talkative during a Q&A session. In another video, the two men laughed with each other as they conversed.

The moments between the two Ghanaian dancehall legends at the event indicated the close friendship between them in recent after their past feud.

Shatta Wale and Samini had a bitter rivalry for many years, during which they released several diss songs and insulted each other on many public platforms.

The pair ended their hostilities towards each other and settled their differences in 2019 by collaborating on a song titled ‘Celebration’.

The videos of Shatta Wale and Samini engaging in friendly interactions garnered positive reactions from fans on social media.
