Projected results have former U.S President, Donald Trump three electoral votes shy of winning the White House, though he is leading in key battleground states.

Nonetheless, world leaders sent congratulatory messages to him.

French President Emmanuel Macron posted on X, “Ready to work together as we were able to do during four years. With your convictions and mine. In respect and ambition. For more peace and prosperity.”

Also, NATO Secretary-General, Mark Rutte said that he looks forward to working with Trump “to advance peace through strength” as the former president closes in on the 270 electoral votes needed to win the White House.

Rutte also praised Trump for his work during his first term to persuade U.S. allies in NATO to ramp up defense spending.

He noted that around two-thirds of the 32 NATO allies are due to meet the organization’s main defense spending target this year.

Additionally, the European Commission President, Ursula von der Leyen stated that she’s looking forward to working with Trump again.

The European Commission President said that the E.U. and U.S. “are more than just allies.”

Moreso, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said on X, “We look forward to an era of a strong United States of America under President Trump’s decisive leadership.”

“I recall our great meeting with President Trump back in September, when we discussed in detail the Ukraine-U.S. strategic partnership, the Victory Plan, and ways to put an end to Russian aggression against Ukraine.”

Zelenskyy said that Ukraine is interested “in developing mutually beneficial political and economic cooperation that will benefit both of our nations.”

He added, “We rely on continued strong bipartisan support for Ukraine in the United States.”

“I appreciate President Trump’s commitment to the ‘peace through strength’ approach in global affairs. This is exactly the principle that can practically bring just peace in Ukraine closer. I am hopeful that we will put it into action together.”

During his campaign, Trump suggested that he will end support for Kyiv’s war effort and claimed he could settle the war “in one day.”

Terms of a peace plan floated by his Vice Presidential nominee, JD Vance included conditions Russian President Vladimir Putin has called for, such as Russia retaining land they have occupied and Ukraine giving a “guarantee of neutrality.”

Netanyahu Congratulates Trump

Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu congratulated Donald Trump on “history’s greatest comeback,” as the former US president appeared poised to clinch victory in the US presidential election.

“Your historic return to the White House offers a new beginning for America and a powerful recommitment to the great alliance between Israel and America.”

Trump, who often claims he was the most pro-Israel president in modern history, once touted his close, personal relationship with Netanyahu.

However, their relationship has soured in recent years, and the former president has been reluctant to speak with him throughout the ongoing war this past year.

During his administration, Trump enacted multiple policies to Israel’s benefit, including moving the US embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, recognizing Israel’s sovereignty over the Golan Heights and backing multiple countries in Middle East and North Africa to normalize relations with Israel as part of the Abraham Accords.

Netanyahu previously called Trump the greatest friend Israel has ever had and heralded him for “unequivocally” standing by Israel during Trump’s tenure as Commander in chief.
