Billboard recently released a list that appeared to unofficially crown Beyoncé as the greatest popstar of the 21st century.

With Taylor Swift taking second place, it is widely expected that Beyoncé will claim the top spot when Billboard names the pop star of the century next week.

She is the most decorated artiste in Grammy’s history, with 32 wins in her career, and the first in history to feature simultaneously at number one on 23 different Billboard charts.

Shatta Wale’s relationship with Beyoncé began when Queen Bey invited him to collaborate on the track “Already” for her 2019 album “The Lion King: The Gift.”

The song, which is a fusion of African rhythms and contemporary pop, became an instant hit and was widely praised for its celebration of African music and culture.

The collaboration marked a significant milestone for Shatta Wale, not only amplifying his global visibility but also cementing his place as one of Africa’s top artists.

In his message of thanks, Shatta Wale referred to Beyoncé as “Mummy”, a term of deep respect and admiration in many African cultures.

For Shatta Wale, it wasn’t just about the musical partnership but the personal and professional support he has received from the megastar over the years.

Many fans were quick to point out that the gratitude extended far beyond the song, symbolizing a mentor-mentee relationship, with Beyoncé helping to guide Shatta Wale into international waters.

Shatta Wale’s tribute to Beyoncé is also a reflection of the strong sense of gratitude he holds towards his own supporters.

Through his message, he reinforced the importance of mutual respect, collaboration, and community in the music industry.

The Ghanaian artist took the opportunity to remind his fans that success is not just about individual achievement, but also about the relationships and partnerships that help shape one’s career.

“Thank you Mummy for believing in me and my craft. You’ve helped me grow in ways I can’t express. To my fans, let’s keep pushing together. This is just the beginning.”

Shatta Wale’s post signals that he has bigger plans ahead and hopes to continue building on the success of his international collaboration.

Ghanaian dancehall musician, Shatta Wale, extended a helping hand to an artist in Kumasi during his visit to the Garden City.

In a video posted by Shatta Wale’s manager, Sammy Flex, Shatta Wale is seen donating an amount of money (disclosed to be GH₵ 20,000) to a 19-year-old lady who presented to Shatta Wale, a portrait of him.

While receiving the piece of artwork, Shatta Wale asked the lady (named Priscilla) about her educational level and she said he had yet to go to the university.

Priscilla told Shatta Wale that she completed senior high school last year but due to financial difficulties, her mother had asked her to wait for some time while she looked for money to pay for the cost of her tertiary education.

Shatta Wale then asked his manager to call Priscilla’s mother so they could present the money to her.

During the meeting, Priscilla’s mother showed appreciation to Shatta Wale and his team.

“My husband passed away three years ago so we are facing some financial difficulties. So I told her to patiently wait for some time. God bless you so much for this gesture.”

Shatta Wale’s manager, Sammy Flex, urged Priscilla’s mother to make good use of the money.

“All that Shatta Wale seeks is for the money to be used for the intended purpose so that the girl can continue her education. This money is not for clothes. It is for Priscilla’s education. Use it for all the things that she will need.”

A few weeks ago, Shatta Wale featured a group of up-and-coming musicians in the Accra Invasion Project, an initiative that has shone some light on the fledgling artists.
