Popular Ghanaian actor Kwaku Manu has called on Ghanaians to maintain calm and order during the upcoming general elections on Saturday, December 7, 2024.

Speaking from the US in a video he shared on Instagram, he stressed the importance of peaceful conduct and urged citizens to learn from the smooth electoral processes he observed in America.

Kwaku Manu highlighted that love for political parties should not drive people to chaos or violence.

He stressed the need for voters to avoid putting themselves at risk to show loyalty to politicians or political parties.

Kwaku Manu pointed out that the recent elections in the US were well-organized, noting how no one got hurt during and after the electoral process and hoped for the same in Ghana.

He encouraged Ghanaians to comport themselves during and after the polls. Kwaku Manu’s message triggered reactions.

“2 days to election you run go America.. oh bra kwaku💀😂.”

The renowned Ghanaian actor also criticized the practice of politicians distributing food to voters during elections, describing it as a sign of disrespect.

His remarks follow recent tensions at the Legon Police Station special voting center, where a dispute arose over alleged food distribution.

During the special voting held on Monday, 2 December 2024, clashes erupted between supporters of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

According to reports, Maa Lydia, the NPP parliamentary candidate for Ayawaso West Wuogon, allegedly distributed cooked rice to voters at the special voting center.

This action prompted protests from supporters of John Dumelo, the NDC candidate, who accused her of violating electoral rules.

Kwaku Manu questioned why such acts of generosity occur only on election days and not before or after the polls. He expressed his disapproval, saying it was an insult to voters’ intelligence.

He also challenged politicians to attempt such tactics on him, asserting that food offerings could never sway his vote.

However, Lydia Seyram Alhassan has strongly defended her decision to distribute food to voters during the special voting exercise on Monday, 2 December 2024.

The Ghanaian actor has added his thoughts to the ongoing rift between some members from the Ashanti and Bono regions.

The rift intensified after Otumfuo Osei Tutu’s recent trip to a funeral in Nkoranza.

Reports indicate that the alleged incident happened while the Asantehene was returning from a burial in the Bono East Region’s Nkoranza.

According to an eyewitness account, a group accompanying the Asantehene parked en route to their destination and disrespected the people of Techiman, causing them to retaliate.

Videos of a group of people vandalizing a bus from Otumfuo’s convoy have surfaced online. The traditional authorities have condemned the incident, stressing that it was uncalled for.

In a video, Kwaku Manu established that the scuffle began with unnecessary videos exchanged between both camps, as members overextended themselves and bragged about their powers.

The Kumawood actor criticized the suspects, sensitizing them to the consequences that could befall them when they were brought to justice.

Fans reacted to Kwaku Manu’s account.

“Pls bro, just narrate the issue the way it is. don’t be one sided. No one in Techiman said His Royal majesty Nana Asantehene cannot pass through Techiman.”

Morrmen

“Why will Kumasi boys go to Takyiman and ask if there is a man there?”

“Yes seidu and his squad would have led the defense and spirito and his squad would have come as a back up.”

Willis B

“No one can stop Otumfo) from passing through but what Seidu n his guys did was wrong.”
