After the show in Jamaica, the ‘On God’ hitmaker reportedly traveled to the US for a few days. On Sunday, January 5, the newly minted African dancehall king shared his arrival plans on Facebook.

“Arriving in Accra on Monday morning to express gratitude to all the SM fans and admirers of Shatta Wale for making this Jamaican trip a success. Thank you, ‘Worldboss’ Vybzkartel , for this wonderful experience.

“I also wanna say a big thank you to my team in Ghana and Jamaica for making this a success .. Thank you Popcaan and Shawn storm for making me meet the man himself the ‘WORLDBOSS’.”

Shatta Wale shared his plans after acknowledging and hailing his fans who were planning to meet him at the airport.

While Shatta Wale is still expected to arrive in the country on Monday, January 6, the highly anticipated meet-and-greet has been called off.

Shatta Wale’s manager, Sammy Flex, issued a statement hours before his arrival asking fans not to gather at the airport as planned.

“Dear Shatta Movement fans, we hope this message finds you in great spirits! We are truly grateful for your unwavering support for Shatta Wale and the incredible energy you bring to every event. Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances, the planned meet-up to celebrate Shatta Wale’s successful concert in Jamaica with Vybz Kartel, which was scheduled to take place at Kotoka International Airport at 6:00 AM on Monday, 6th January 2025, did not happen as intended.

“We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused and appreciate your understanding. Please rest assured that a new date and time for the meet-up will be communicated soon.”

Statement

It appeared that fans were not left disappointed as they still counted down to an appropriate session with their favorite dancehall star.

Medikal Hypes Shatta Wale at NDC Concert

Ghanaian rapper, Medikal was one of several artists who performed at the National Democratic Congress’ victory concert in Accra.

The organizers of the event billed several artists, including Stonebwoy, but dropped him moments before the show.

The organizers issued a statement explaining that they were forced to drop Stonebwoy due to pressure from the NDC’s supporters who did not approve of the ‘Jejereje’ hitmaker because he did not rally behind the party.

The decision enraged many entertainment industry professionals, including Lydia Forson, who said they shouldn’t have booked him in the first place.

“If they felt so strongly about not having him perform, they shouldn’t have booked him in the first place. But to book an artist and later rescind because people don’t like the idea is bad optics. If stone has a contract in place, hope you know he may still get paid.”

Moments after the decision to drop Stonebwoy, the organizers of the NDC’s victory concert announced Medikal as a performing act.

Medikal’s crony, Shatta Wale, shared his excitement about the rapper’s new gig on social media.

“When the people love you, their support becomes the wind beneath your wings, lifting you to heights you could never reach alone. Go and show dem why u be my real G 🚀🚀✈️ @Medikalbyk.”

Shatta Wale

His remarks come after a long-standing fierce banter with his rival Stonebwoy whose fans were not pleased with the NDC’s decision.

During the NDC victory concert held on January 5, Medikal unpacked a slew of hit songs from his well-seasoned catalog.

In a video, the rapper dedicated some time from his performance to hail Shatta Wale after his impressive stint with Vybz Kartel.

Medikal rallied the audience at the NDC concert to sing Shatta Wale’s praises after his landmark performance at the 35k-capacity National Stadium in Jamaica. His performance became a highlight after the show.

“Big shoutouts to his excellency Mahama. Big Shout out to the whole family and team here. And I want to say Big shoutouts to Shatta Wale, wherever he is. He made Ghana proud. It was his dream to do this, and we see it happening.”

Medikal

The musician proceeded to perform Stonebwoy’s smash hit ‘Kpo Keke’ which features him [Medikal], Kwesi Arthur, DarkoVibes, and Kelvyn Boy.
