Bawa expressed his readiness to ensure that the corporation effectively manages Ghana’s petroleum resources to support the nation’s long-term growth and prosperity.

“…I officially assumed the role of Acting Chief Executive of the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC), our nation’s oil company.

“I am deeply honored by the trust placed in me to lead this institution, which has been a pillar in Ghana’s energy sector. Together, we will unlock the full potential of our resources and drive a new chapter of growth for GNPC and the nation”.

Edward Abambire Bawa

Bawa further elaborated on his vision, highlighting his ambition to position GNPC as a global leader within the oil and gas industry.

He emphasized that his leadership will focus on ensuring that the corporation’s operations have a meaningful and lasting impact on improving the quality of life for Ghanaians.

A central aspect of this vision involves fostering stronger collaboration with both local and international partners to attract greater investment into the oil and gas sector.

By building and nurturing these strategic partnerships, Bawa aims to create a more robust and dynamic industry capable of responding to emerging challenges and opportunities.

He indicated his plans to drive innovation, introduce advanced technologies, and expand GNPC’s operational capabilities, positioning the corporation to meet the growing demands of the global energy market through these collaborations.

Ultimately, Bawa pointed out that these efforts not only enhance GNPC’s competitive edge but also contribute to sustainable growth within the sector.

This will translate into long-term benefits for the Ghanaian people, including job creation, improved infrastructure, and greater economic stability.

Collaboration to Drive Growth, Innovation in Energy Sector

Furthermore, Edward Abambire Bawa emphasized the importance of collaboration in driving the growth of the energy sector.

He stated that by working together, both local and international stakeholders can collectively expand the nation’s resource base, enhance exploration and production capabilities, and open up new avenues for adding value throughout the petroleum value chain.

Bawa highlighted that such partnerships are essential for optimizing resource management, improving efficiency, and fostering innovation.

Through collaborative efforts, he believes GNPC can unlock untapped potential within the sector, generating new opportunities for job creation, local content development, and broader economic growth.

This, in turn, will help strengthen Ghana’s position in the global energy market while benefiting all sectors of the economy.

“These partnerships will not only drive growth for GNPC but also ensure the long-term energy security and economic prosperity of Ghana.

“To achieve this, I am determined to prioritize strategic initiatives that align with the dynamic needs of the global energy landscape. We will embrace cutting-edge technologies, attract and retain the best talent, and uphold the highest standards of corporate governance and transparency”.

Edward Abambire Bawa

According to Bawa, by cultivating a culture of excellence within GNPC and working closely with both local and international stakeholders, the corporation aims to not only meet the current energy demands of Ghana but also play a pivotal role in shaping a sustainable and inclusive energy future for the country.

He believes that through collaboration, innovation, and a shared commitment to high standards, GNPC can ensure the long-term energy security of Ghana while supporting economic growth and social development.

By focusing on sustainability and inclusivity, Bawa envisions a future where Ghana’s energy needs are met in a way that benefits all Ghanaians, fostering energy access, reducing environmental impact, and creating lasting opportunities across the nation.
