Ghanaian actor and comedian, Kwaku Manu has shared some advice with his followers and the country’s youth.

The filmmaker and content creator urged people to be prudent in spending their money on enjoyment, emphasizing the need to focus on acquiring properties instead.

Kwaku Manu observed that some Ghanaians spend as much as GHC15,000 on clubbing each weekend.

According to the actor, normalizing such extravagant spending could lead individuals into financial difficulties.

“You have no business going to the club if you don’t own a plot of land. People spend about GHC5,000 in the club each day. So calculating it for the three days from Friday to Sunday amounts to GHC15,000. These same people may end up spending GHC60,000 in a month on clubbing.”

The actor also weighed in on the debate about buying a car while living in a rented house.

To him owing a car while renting a house may be justifiable depending on the person’s line of work. However, if their job does not require frequent commuting, they should prioritize owning a house over purchasing a car.

“It depends on what the person does. Some jobs demand having a car. But for instance, if you run a store in front of your house and have your church within your neighborhood, there is no need to buy a car.

“Even if you need to buy a car, get an affordable one because it does not make sense to drive a GHC5 billion or GHC10 billion car while living in a rented house.”

Kwaku Manu’s statement has generated mixed reactions from the public. While some applauded his emphasis on financial prudence, others criticized his views as overly restrictive and out of touch with reality.

This statement adds to Kwaku Manu’s growing reputation for outspoken views on social and economic issues.

Moreover, the actor and entrepreneur revealed that it took him 5 years to complete his East-Legon mansion.

He disclosed that he began working on his house in 2019. In the course of the work, COVID-19 hit the world and it halted the process.

According to him, he is grateful to God, he was able to complete the house in 2024, 5 years after its initiation.

Kwaku Manu expressed how humbled he felt during the visit, despite having recently completed his own luxurious home in East Legon Hills.

He praised Sam Jonah’s humility, highlighting how wealth has not changed the esteemed businessman’s demeanor.

Sam Jonah, one of Ghana’s wealthiest individuals, is a respected entrepreneur and the executive chairman of Jonah Capital, an equity fund based in South Africa.

He is also the chancellor of the University of Cape Coast and previously served as president of AngloGold Ashanti.

Kwaku Manu’s new property, located in the prestigious East Legon Hills area, added to his portfolio of assets, including other houses in Kumasi and beyond.

The modern two-storey building sat on a neatly tiled compound with an additional structure in the compound.

In a video shared on his YouTube channel, Kwaku Manu gave fans a closer look at his new home. The compound had ample space and was designed to accommodate multiple vehicles.

During the video, the actor was seen standing next to a black 2020 Honda Pilot, one of the cars parked on the premises.Expand article logo
