Ghanaian media mogul, Bola Ray has shared the story behind his iconic name and the journey that has shaped his career in the entertainment industry.

Bola Ray, whose real name is Nathaniel Anokye Adisi, recounted how he adopted the name “Bola Ray” during his early school days.

“I got the name when I was in SHS. Initially, I had a different nickname, ‘Bongo,’ but I felt it wasn’t distinctive enough. One day, while walking to prep, I stumbled upon a pencil with the inscription ‘Bola on it.’ I thought, ‘Why not be different and call myself Bola Ray?’”

Bola Ray

Beyond just a nickname, Bola Ray explained the significance of each letter in his name. The “B” represents “boldness”, “O” for “outstanding”, “L” stands for “loving,” and “A” for “affable”. Ray, he added, represents being religious, ambitious, and youthful, qualities he has carried throughout his career.
