Gospel Singer Shares Distressing Story of Losing His 7-Month-Old Baby

MOGmusic

Gospel singer and pastor, MOGmusic, has disclosed the person behind the success of his New Wine Concert since its inception in 2015.

He stated that the Founder and Apostle General of Royalhouse Chapel International, Rev. Sam Korankye Ankrah, has played a significant role in organizing the concert by funding the first three editions and has been supportive throughout the years of its existence.

“I met the Apostle Rev. Sam Korankye Ankrah and my service to his vision touched his heart and he told me that he would help me. So, I submitted to his leadership and I can say for 3 years straight when I started doing New Wine, he single-handedly financed everything. The seed money I used for my first album, he gave it to me to produce that album and I owe my success to Rev. Sam Korankye Ankrah.”

The ‘Mala’ songwriter added that the Apostle has invested time, money, prayer, counsel, and discipline and has also contributed to his breakthrough in some higher places which he has been able to sustain. “He led the way and obviously it’s been upward ever since,” MOGmusic said.

Born Nana Yaw Boakye, MOGmusic has produced well-known gospel tunes, earning several awards, including the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards Male Vocalist of the Year back-to-back in 2020 and 2021.

For over a decade, the musician has blessed Ghanaians and gospel music lovers with spirit-filled songs at his New Wine concert.

This year is no exception, as Kumasi has already had its experience of the concert, while Accra is yet to witness it on March 30 at the First Love Church.

The 2025 Accra edition will feature Joe Mettle, Obaapa Christy, Pastor Isaiah Fosu Kwakye Jnr, Barry Neequaye, and Quame Gyedu.

MOGmusic successfully organized his first ticketed show, ‘New Wine Concert’ at the Church of Pentecost, Bantama in Kumasi, in the Ashanti Region which featured the likes of Empress Gifty, Quame Gyedu, and a host of other special guests.

The Ghanaian gospel singer and pastor urged Ghanaian gospel lovers to erase the mindset of attending events solely because of the presence of an international artiste.

He stated that they should show interest and attend with the aim of supporting local musicians to promote their music and help them gain international recognition as well.

“I want to encourage Ghanaians not to come to events because there’s an international artist or somebody you’ve never seen before. Come because you believe in whatever your local artist is doing and you want to support him to propel his music to the nations of the world.”

Once people inculcate such a mindset, the musicians are optimistic that they will receive blessings from the event.

As a result, the ‘Be Lifted’ song composer has not booked any international musicians for his upcoming 2025 New Wine concert, which is slated for March 30 at the First Love Church.

MOGmusic believes that the artists billed to perform are equally anointed with the power of God and are capable of gracing the occasion with spirit-filled music.

He urged Ghanaians to purchase tickets for the event, which will help cover expenses and provide an opportunity to experience a closer relationship with some of Ghana’s well-known musicians in the gospel fraternity.

He added that such events allow local musicians to connect with their fans locally as they get ample time to perform on stage.

Moreover, MOGmusic has been nominated for three awards at this year’s Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA) which is set to take place on May 3, 2025.

He will be competing with others for the Best Gospel Artiste, Best Male Vocalist with the song ‘Ahouden Fofro’, and Best Traditional Contemporary Music category with ‘Wo Ye’.
