Chief priestess-turned-evangelist, Patricia Asiedua Asiamah, widely known as Nana Agradaa, has been convicted by the Circuit Court in Accra for “charlatanic advertisement” and “defrauding by false pretence.”
Nana Agradaa, according to court documents, through an advertisement on her Today-TV channel and other social media platforms in 2022, urged her victims to give out any amount of money, which she would, in return, double for them.
The documents said the six complainants in the case, as well as over one thousand other persons, according to the prosecution, came from far and near and attended the all-night service and gave out various sums of money as requested by Nana Agradaa for doubling, but she failed to deliver on her promise.
“The accused successfully demanded and received huge sums of money from some members of the public who attended the said all-night service at Heaven Way Champion International Ministry, Weija, including complainants in this matter, as indicated on the face of the charge sheet. Further investigations revealed that the accused undertook the charlatanic advertisement and subsequent money collection with other persons for the purported money doubling.”
The prosecution
Although a final sentence has not yet been issued, the court has ordered a pregnancy test to be conducted following sentencing protocols. She has been taken to a hospital for this examination before the court proceeds with sentencing.
Further directives from the court are expected in the coming days as the case progresses to its final stage.
The founder and leader of Heaven Way Champion Ministries, Evangelist Patricia Oduro Koranteng alias Nana Agradaa, who is facing multiple criminal charges in various courts, was rearrested on Monday, January 16, 2023, after making an appearance before the Accra Circuit Court 4.
The court on Monday adjourned her case to Friday, January 20, 2023, but before Agradaa could leave the court premises, she was picked up by the police with another case.
Nana Agradaa has three different cases before three Circuit Courts in Accra on various counts of defrauding by false pretences and charlatanic advertisement in the media.
She is also facing trial for her alleged role in the assault of one Prophet Akwasi Appiah, alias Appiah Biblical, in 2020.
Kumchacha Criticizes Agradaa’s Gestures at Thanksgiving Service
Prophet Kumchacha took a swipe at Nana Agradaa after a video captured her warmly hugging President John Dramani Mahama and Prophet Owusu-Bempah during the National Day of Prayer and Thanksgiving Service.
The event, held on July 1, 2025, saw Agradaa embracing Prophet Owusu-Bempah, despite their known differences.
Speaking about this development in a video shared on social media on July 3, Kumchacha alleged that Agradaa’s gestures were not genuine but rather calculated.
He claimed she had an ulterior motive behind the public display of affection, aimed at drawing attention and setting others up for criticism.
According to Kumchacha, Agradaa, who has had a turbulent relationship with Owusu-Bempah in the past, intended to trap the preacher into a social media backlash.
“I saw the video where Prophet Owusu-Bempah was sitting with other prominent pastors. When Agradaa approached him, she gave him a hug. There were a lot of people around, especially bloggers, so he couldn’t have ignored her. She set Owusu-Bempah up, and now everyone is talking about her. That’s why I always say even God and Satan fear Agradaa.”

Kumchacha further described Agradaa as manipulative and cunning, urging the public to be cautious in dealing with her.
“This is someone who was once a chief priestess. She’s fast and calculating. She went to that event to make a move. John Mahama is now a statesman and a father figure after the elections. He couldn’t have pushed her away; if he had, it would have made headlines.
“Agradaa is like a timber truck, once she’s coming, you better clear the way. What happened at the event was a setup, and people should know she is a trickster.”
