The Amasaman High Court has denied bail to self-styled evangelist Patricia Asiedua, popularly known as Nana Agradaa, as she seeks to overturn her recent conviction and 15-year prison sentence.
Her lawyer, Dr. Bernard Kofi Asamoah confirmed that the bail application had been rejected but insisted that the legal process was far from over.
“We wanted bail pending appeal, and the court did not grant it. The court has given an order that the Circuit Court furnish the court with all the processes needed for the appeal. We will continue the appeal process.”

Following her conviction, lawyers for the televangelist filed a petition for appeal and a motion for bail pending the appeal hearing.
The application assured the court that Agradaa was not a flight risk, would comply with all bail conditions, and had sureties capable of meeting any security requirements.
However, the judge declined to grant bail and directed the court registrar to produce records of proceedings within 14 days to aid the appeal process.
According to her legal counsel, led by Bernard Kofi Asamoah, their next focus is to pursue the appeal.
Agradaa’s lawyers maintain that her conviction was unjust and fraught with legal irregularities, including what they described as “bias exhibited by the trial judge.”

They argued that the burden of proof was improperly shifted from the prosecution to the accused, claiming Agradaa was unfairly required to prove her innocence.
They also contended that the judgment did not consider mitigating factors such as her cooperation during the trial or her plea for leniency, despite references to Ghana’s sentencing guidelines.
This latest development marks another legal setback for Agradaa, who has maintained that her conviction was based on flawed interpretations and selective use of evidence.
Her legal team remains hopeful that the appeal process will deliver a favorable outcome. In the meantime, she continues to serve her sentence at the Nsawam Female Prison.
Moreover, Angel Asiamah, the husband of the incarcerated Ghanaian preacher got all eyes on him as he appeared in court for the first time since she was jailed.
In a video, it showed the adorable moment when Angel Asiamah was seen walking to his vehicle after the ruling.
The crowd, apparently supporters of the televangelist, swarmed around Angel Asiamah and began showering him with praises as he walked to the car. Others also opened up about their admiration for him as he sat in the car, with a young man confessing his love for him.
Reporter Shares Agradaa’s Look in Court

Ghanaian reporter Michael Boateng, popularly known as Mike 2, revealed that Agradaa was transported from the Nsawam Prison to the court in the custody of heavily armed prison officers.
Mike 2 said she had her face covered with a nose mask and her hair wrapped in a white headscarf. Dressed in a white prison uniform, she sat quietly with her hands in handcuffs.
“I was in the court with her. Her lawyers argued as to why she deserves to be out on bail pending her appeal. The prosecution, led by lawyers from the Attorney General’s office, also argued against the motion. After the arguments, the judge asked for some time to deliberate.”

According to the journalist, when Nana Agradaa was first brought to the court, the place was deserted as people were unaware of her appearance.
He said in the intervening hours, dozens of Ghanaians stormed the place, hoping to get a glimpse of Nana Agradaa in her prison uniform. “The prison officers who brought her were also armed,” he said.
The presenter also noted that Agradaa had visibly lost weight and appeared far quieter than her usual self.
She was eventually whisked away in a police vehicle after Tuesday’s court proceedings to continue serving her sentence.
