Gospel songstress Rev. Obaapa Christy has opened up about her approach to education, stating that formal classroom learning is not something she plans to return to.
She addressed public perceptions that some Ghanaian gospel artists, including herself, struggle with English fluency.
She acknowledged that she doesn’t have a strong academic background but emphasized that her ministry is driven by spiritual depth.
“For me, it’s not about speaking perfect English. I may not be fluent, but I have the Holy Spirit. He gives me the lyrics. That’s what matters most in ministry.”

Obaapa Christy noted that she is open to furthering her education. “Given who I am now, I’d rather hire a tutor to teach me at home,” she added, stressing that the decision is based on practicality and comfort, not pride.

Meanwhile, the Gospel music star made it into the headlines with a bold declaration about her beauty and personal appeal.
The award-winning singer described herself as not only beautiful but also a woman of great value, hinting that her looks and character are admired by many. “My husband gave me the name ‘Obaapa’ because of my beauty, humility, and how I show love,” she said.
According to Christy, her physical appearance and graceful demeanor make her liked. “I’m beautiful and carry myself well. Every man out there would wish I were his wife or girlfriend,” she added confidently.
Her comments have since generated a mix of praise and buzz on social media, with fans expressing excitement over her new project and others reacting to her confident self-description.
Obaapa Christy, known for hits like “Hyebre Sesafo” and “W’asue Me,” is no stranger to the spotlight, but this latest revelation adds a personal touch to the anticipation surrounding her upcoming album.
