The Ghana Export Promotion Authority (GEPA), led by Deputy Chief Executive Officer (DCEO) Mr. Rashid Raymond Kramer, has concluded a high-stakes trade mission to Fruit Logistica 2026 in Berlin, Germany, marking a decisive step in the nation’s push to dominate the global horticultural market.
As one of the world’s premier trade fairs for fresh produce, the event served as a strategic theater for GEPA to showcase the diversity and premium quality of Ghana’s agricultural exports. The Ghanaian delegation leveraged the three-day exhibition to secure vital market linkages and solidify its presence within the multi-billion-dollar European supply chain.
“Mr. Rashid Raymond Kramer’s leadership, together with the collaboration of FAGE executives and association heads positioned Ghana’s Stand as a focal point for business engagement. For Ghana, the mission to Berlin was not merely about representation; it was a critical component of the national drive to scale Non-Traditional Export (NTE) earnings to $10 billion by 2030“
GEPA
By positioning the Ghana Stand as a hub for industrial dialogue, GEPA is moving beyond traditional export models to embrace high-value, market-ready horticultural solutions.

According to the Authority, the success of the mission was anchored in a unified “Ghana Inc.” approach, characterized by seamless collaboration between GEPA, the Federation of Associations of Ghanaian Exporters (FAGE), and various association heads. This joint front allowed local producers to engage directly with over 90,000 industry experts and international buyers.
Mr. Rashid Raymond Kramer’s leadership focused on shifting the narrative from raw commodity supply to strategic partnerships, emphasizing that Ghana is ready to meet the rigorous quality and sustainability standards of the EU market.
By fostering these connections, GEPA is ensuring that Ghanaian exporters of chilies, mangoes, and the world-renowned Sugarloaf pineapple have a direct line to the world’s most lucrative retail shelves.
Diplomatic Backing and Global Value Chains
The mission received a significant boost from H.E. Professor Ohene Adjei, Ghana’s Ambassador to Germany, who visited the Ghana Stand to offer diplomatic endorsement.

His presence underscored the bilateral importance of the agricultural sector and reinforced the government’s commitment to protecting and promoting the interests of Ghanaian exporters abroad. It also reaffirmed the shared commitment to promoting the quality, diversity and export potential of Ghanaian horticultural products on the global stage.
GEPA noted that this high-level diplomatic support is vital for navigating the complex regulatory landscapes of international trade. It signals to global investors and off-takers that the Ghanaian state is fully behind its agricultural innovators, providing a layer of confidence that is essential for long-term contract security.
At its core, GEPA’s participation in Fruit Logistica 2026 was an execution of its fundamental mandate: to serve as a bridge between the local farmgate and the global consumer. This year’s focus on market discussions allowed exporters to gain firsthand intelligence on shifting consumer preferences toward organic and climate-smart produce.
With vegetable exports already surging – nearly doubling from $26 million in 2023 to $48 million in 2024 – the Berlin mission provides the momentum needed to sustain this trajectory.

As the global fresh produce industry converges on innovation and efficiency, GEPA’s strategic presence in Berlin ensures that Ghana remains not just a participant, but a leader in the global agricultural transformation.
