The Member of Parliament Elect for Ayawaso East, Baba Jamal, has described his electoral victory as the start of a new chapter for the constituency, pledging peace, development, and inclusive leadership.

Speaking after the final provisional results were declared, the National Democratic Congress candidate expressed deep gratitude to voters for the confidence reposed in him.

“I want to thank the almighty Allah for giving us this victory, I want to thank all of them for having confidence in me and electing me as their parliamentary candidate elect.”

He also acknowledged the sacrifices of his wife and children, thanking them for enduring the pressures that accompanied his political comeback.

Party Support and Grassroots Effort

The MP Elect praised the leadership of the National Democratic Congress for standing by him throughout the campaign. He expressed appreciation to the party’s national executives, the Greater Accra Regional Executives, and the Ayawaso East Constituency Executives for their coordination and support.

He also singled out grassroots supporters, particularly those from Akwatia, who travelled in large numbers to campaign with him. “I want to thank all my people who came in their numbers to support this project,” he said, describing the victory as a collective effort built on loyalty and perseverance.

Baba Jamal also acknowledged the President for entrusting him with a diplomatic assignment in Nigeria prior to the elections. He said the experience broadened his outlook and prepared him for more effective parliamentary service.

Faith, Community, and Vision Ahead

The MP Elect thanked religious and traditional leaders for their prayers and guidance, including the National Chief Imam, Osman Nuhu Sharubutu. He said their support contributed to the peaceful outcome and strengthened community unity.

“There is going to be a new East Ayawaso. We will rebrand East Ayawaso with a new face of peace, development, and professionalism, and inshallah we shall achieve that.”
