Ghanaian highlife artiste Fameye has publicly called for reconciliation with dancehall heavyweight Shatta Wale, expressing a strong desire to collaborate despite an apparent breakdown in communication between the two artistes.

Speaking in a candid interview aired on Thursday, April 16, 2026, the “Very Soon” hitmaker opened up about the current state of his relationship with Shatta Wale, revealing that what was once a close and promising musical connection has now become distant and uncertain.

According to Fameye, the two artistes previously maintained frequent communication and had even discussed the possibility of working together on music projects. However, he noted that the dynamic has shifted unexpectedly, leaving him both concerned and confused.

“I need his verse badly, but he is upset with me,” Fameye stated during the interview.

The singer admitted that he is unsure what may have triggered the change in attitude but emphasised that his intentions remain sincere. For Fameye, the appeal goes beyond music, reflecting a deeper sense of admiration and personal regard for the dancehall star.

“I just want him to know I love him, I listen to his songs and I like his personality. I really need his verse in my studio, but it’s not just because I need him in my studio. I feel he is a nice person to work with and I want to be close to him again.”

A Lingering Rift

This is not the first time Fameye has publicly sought to reconnect with Shatta Wale. In October 2025, he made a similar appeal on social media, calling on rapper Medikal-a close associate of Shatta Wale to help facilitate a meeting between them.

At the time, Fameye disclosed that Shatta Wale had gone “completely mute” on him for several months, despite their previously cordial relationship and plans to collaborate. His attempts to reach out, including engaging under Shatta Wale’s social media posts, reportedly drew mixed reactions, with some fans criticising his approach.

The situation highlights a familiar pattern within the music industry, where professional relationships can become strained due to misunderstandings, personal differences or external influences.

Fameye’s latest appeal has sparked varied reactions among fans and industry observers. While some have praised him for demonstrating humility and emotional honesty in a competitive industry, others have speculated about possible underlying tensions behind the fallout.

The development has also reignited conversations around broader dynamics within Ghana’s music scene, particularly the long-standing narratives surrounding rivalries and alliances among top artistes. Although Fameye has not directly linked his situation to any wider industry tensions, some fans believe external factors could be influencing the current silence from Shatta Wale’s camp.

Despite the uncertainty, many listeners are already anticipating what a potential collaboration between the two artistes could sound like. The fusion of Fameye’s soulful highlife style with Shatta Wale’s energetic dancehall delivery is widely seen as a combination that could produce a major hit.

Career Momentum and Potential Impact

Fameye has maintained a strong presence in Ghana’s music industry in recent years, steadily establishing himself as one of the leading voices in contemporary highlife. His consistent releases and growing fanbase have reinforced his position as a key figure in the genre.

He has also been active within the awards circuit, recently addressing his nominations at the Telecel Ghana Music Awards, further signalling his continued relevance in the industry.

A collaboration with Shatta Wale, known for his massive influence and global reach, could mark a significant moment for both artistes. Such a project would not only bridge genres but also potentially expand their audiences across different markets.

As of April 16, 2026, there has been no official response from Shatta Wale or his management regarding Fameye’s renewed appeal. The silence has left industry watchers closely monitoring the situation, with many hoping for a resolution that could benefit the broader Ghanaian music landscape.

The episode underscores the importance of communication and reconciliation within the entertainment industry, where creative partnerships often play a crucial role in shaping careers and influencing musical trends.

For now, fans continue to support both artistes independently, streaming their music and engaging with their work while waiting to see whether this public call for unity will lead to a long-anticipated collaboration.

Whether or not Shatta Wale responds, Fameye’s openness has already positioned him as an artiste willing to prioritise connection over conflict, an approach that many believe could set a positive tone within the industry.
