Ghanaian music legend Kojo Antwi, affectionately known as “Mr. Music Man” and “the Maestro,” is preparing to deliver another unforgettable performance as he takes his signature highlife sound across the Atlantic to Germany this month.
The highly anticipated concert, promoted by TRIG Entertainment, is scheduled for Saturday, May 16, 2026, at Zentrum Altenberg in Oberhausen (with strong ties to the Dortmund music scene), promising an all-night celebration of Ghanaian rhythm and nostalgia.
Doors open at 9 PM and the show will run until 5 AM, giving fans ample time to immerse themselves in Antwi’s rich catalog of hits spanning decades. From evergreen classics like “Tom & Jerry,” “Medo,” “Odo,” and “Bompata” to more recent favorites, attendees can expect a masterclass in highlife delivered with the energy and precision that have defined Antwi’s career.
At 65, Kojo Antwi remains one of Africa’s most enduring musical exports. His silky voice, masterful guitar work, and ability to blend traditional highlife with contemporary influences have earned him a loyal following not just in Ghana but across the African diaspora in Europe and North America.
This German date forms part of his active 2026 international calendar, which has already seen him perform in Kwahu during Easter festivities and headline events in New York.
Promoters describe the upcoming show as more than a concert, it is a cultural bridge.
Ticket categories include Standard Entry at €65, early-bird Pre-Tickets at €60, Couple Tickets at €100, and VIP options at €90, with several packages already seeing strong demand.
The Germany show arrives at a significant moment for Ghanaian music on the global stage. Highlife, once considered a fading genre, has experienced a vibrant resurgence thanks to artists like Antwi who continue to tour and inspire younger talents.
Collaborations and fusion projects have introduced highlife rhythms to new audiences, while Antwi’s consistent live performances remind fans why he remains the benchmark.
In recent years, Antwi has balanced international tours with homegrown initiatives. His annual “Get Kojo Antwified” Christmas Eve concert in Accra has become a cultural fixture, drawing thousands and providing a platform for emerging Ghanaian acts.
The 2025 edition at UPSA Auditorium in Legon was praised for its production value and emotional performances, reinforcing Antwi’s role as both entertainer and mentor.
Beyond music, Antwi has ventured into literature. Earlier in April 2026, he held a memoir signing in New York, offering fans deeper insight into his journey from humble beginnings to becoming a household name.
The book details his artistic evolution, challenges in the industry, and unwavering commitment to preserving highlife heritage.
