Ghanaian singer Kelvyn Boy has released a new single titled “Weather for 2,” featuring Kojo Black, with the track steadily climbing music charts since its debut.
The release signals the end of a quiet period for the artist, who had been largely off the radar due to physical and personal challenges.
In a recent interview, Kelvyn Boy revealed how the song was conceived.
“It was raining when my team and I were recording the song at a studio around Laboma beach and the feeling just felt right”

He added that musicians often recognise when a song has potential, but believes a higher power also plays a role.
The artist expressed surprise at the strong positive reaction from the public.” The song Weather for 2 has the same pattern as ‘Excellent’, it is high-life,” Kelvyn Boy noted.

The track carries the feel-good highlife sound that characterised his earlier hit “Excellent,” blending smooth vocals with catchy rhythms and Kojo Black’s feature adding depth to the collaboration.
On the subject of future features, Kelvyn Boy said he is selective and will only appear on songs he considers genuinely good.
He expressed interest in working with the R2Bees group, noting that their 2018 single “OVER” has recently resurfaced on global charts after eight years. He also indicated openness to more collaborations with female artists in the industry.
“I am about to drop an album at the end of June and I have Cina Soul on it. She does not seem to give up”

The forthcoming album is titled “SECOND STEP”. According to the singer, the project represents a second chance in his music career. He warned fans to expect a different version of himself.
“It will be like a wounded lion with a bit of love,” he described, adding that the lover-boy persona prominent in some of his previous work will not dominate the new material.
Kelvyn Boy acknowledged that challenges are part of every musician’s journey.
Life Outside Music
Outside music, he has diversified his interests by opening a bar business and plans to venture into farming in the near future.
He manages his multiple commitments by delegating responsibilities to trusted team members.
The new single comes at a time when Ghanaian highlife and Afrobeats continue to gain international attention.
“Weather for 2” has been received positively by fans, many of whom see it as a return to form for Kelvyn Boy after his period away from the spotlight.
Industry observers note that the artist’s willingness to balance music with business ventures reflects a maturing approach common among seasoned Ghanaian musicians seeking long-term sustainability in a competitive industry.
As anticipation builds for the June album release, many are watching to see whether “SECOND STEP” will solidify Kelvyn Boy’s place among the consistent voices in Ghanaian contemporary music.

The artist’s latest output demonstrates resilience, with “Weather for 2” providing an early indication that his return could be marked by both familiar highlife grooves and fresh creative directions.
