The President of the Ghana Football Association, Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku, has urged Ghanaian music duo DopeNation to remain united as they continue to rise in the entertainment industry and contribute to promoting Ghana on the global stage.
The celebrated twin brothers paid a courtesy call on the GFA President at the Football Association’s headquarters in Accra on Tuesday as discussions centered on possible collaboration ahead of Ghana’s participation in the 2026 FIFA World Cup in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
The meeting formed part of efforts to strengthen ties between football and entertainment, with both parties exploring ways music can be used to rally support for the Black Stars and increase fan engagement before and during the mundial.
DopeNation, made up of identical twins Micheal Boafo, popularly known as B2, and Tony Boafo, known in showbiz circles as Twist, held extensive talks with the GFA President on initiatives that could help project Ghana positively during the tournament.
Music And Football Seen As Powerful National Tools
Speaking during the engagement, Simeon-Okraku praised the duo for their growth and consistency in the music industry, describing them as one of the country’s most influential music groups.

The GFA President, who also serves as the 2nd Vice-President of the Confederation of African Football, highlighted the importance of unity between sports and entertainment in building national pride and strengthening Ghana’s image internationally.
“With football and music serving as two of Ghana’s strongest instruments of national identity and pride, there is tremendous value in bringing both sectors together to inspire the nation and project Ghana positively onto the global stage.”

Simeon-Okraku also singled out the duo’s trending song, “Kakalika,” describing it as a cultural phenomenon that has resonated strongly with many Ghanaians both locally and abroad.
The football administrator further encouraged the brothers to stay “united”despite their growing fame, stressing that their bond and shared vision have been central to their success story.
According to him, maintaining that togetherness would not only sustain their music career but also position them as influential ambassadors capable of supporting national causes, particularly Ghana’s World Cup campaign.
The Black Stars will participate in the 2026 FIFA World Cup and preparations are gradually intensifying as Ghana seeks to make a strong impression at the global football showpiece in North America.
DopeNation Ready To Support Black Stars Campaign
On behalf of the music duo, B2 expressed appreciation to the GFA President for the warm reception and meaningful discussions, assuring the Football Association of their readiness to support Ghana’s World Cup journey.
He noted that DopeNation is prepared to play an active role in driving entertainment and fan engagement activities that would energize supporters and boost morale ahead of the tournament. “We are ready and committed to contributing meaningfully to Ghana’s World Cup campaign, especially through entertainment and fan engagement that can unite Ghanaians behind the Black Stars,” B2 revealed.
The duo also indicated their desire to support the development and promotion of domestic football, insisting they are eager to become stakeholders in the broader growth of the game in Ghana.

Present at the meeting were GFA Deputy General Secretary Ama Brobey Williams, Head of Business Development Janice Odonkor, Director of Marketing and President of WAFU Zone B Marketing Jamil Maraby, as well as Senior Manager of Communication at the Office of the President Patrick Akoto.
DopeNation attended the engagement with members of their management team, including Mohammed Ennin. The discussions are expected to pave the way for further collaboration between the Football Association and the award-winning musicians as Ghana builds momentum toward the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
With football and music widely regarded as two of the country’s biggest cultural exports, the proposed partnership is expected to inspire supporters, strengthen national unity and showcase Ghana’s vibrant identity to the rest of the world.
