The Premier League has unveiled the fixture list for the 2026/27 season, setting the stage for another highly anticipated campaign filled with early heavyweight clashes, fierce rivalries and intriguing storylines from the opening weekend to the final day.
The new season will officially get underway on Friday, August 21, with reigning champions Arsenal welcoming newly promoted Coventry City in the curtain-raiser.
The fixture marks Coventry’s return to the top flight after more than two decades out and securing the Championship title in what promises to be a memorable occasion for the Sky Blues.

Coventry chairman and owner Doug King expressed excitement after the fixture announcement, describing the opening-day encounter as the perfect way to begin life back in the Premier League.
“What can you say? I thought it’d be a big one. Champions against champions, what a way to start it. I think everybody’s excited. There was a little bit of nervous tension around, it went quiet afterwards, but we’ve got to play everybody twice and we’re excited to start it at the home of Arsenal.”

King also highlighted the importance of fan support as Coventry prepare for the challenge of competing against England’s elite clubs. “We’ve got ourselves ready and we’ll need our home support hugely this year. We had a great home support in the Championship-winning season and I think we’ll need it even more in the Premier League.”
