DopeNation is set to light up Saarbrücken, Germany, this Friday as they take the stage for a high-energy night of Afro and hip-hop sounds. The identical brothers, known professionally as B2 and Twist, will perform live on 21 August 2026 at a venue on Futterstraße 5-7 in the city’s 66111 postal district, as part of an event billed “Afro Boom Meets Hip Hop.”
Supporting acts listed include Lamar, DJ Don and DJ Motis. Fans have already begun responding with excitement, with some local residents in Saarbrücken asking for exact venue details and others simply posting fire emojis in anticipation of the “Kakalikaaa” vibes the duo promised.
DopeNation consists of Michael Boafo (B2) and Tony Boafo (Twist), identical twins born in Accra and raised partly in Abeka before moving to Takoradi for secondary school. They later returned to Accra for university studies at the University of Ghana and Ghana Technology University College. Their musical journey began early, with the brothers experimenting with beats on school desks and chairs.
In 2012 they were introduced to professional production by Ghanaian artist and producer E.L., who helped nurture their skills.
The pair quickly built a strong reputation behind the boards, producing major hits for some of Ghana’s biggest names. Credits include “Kpuu Kpaa” for Shatta Wale, “Wow” and “Sebgefia” for Joey B and E.L., “Poison” for Ebony Reigns, “Forever” for Eazzy featuring Mr Eazi, and “Nana Ama” for Pappy Kojo.
They have also worked with Nigerian artists such as Olamide and Tekno. Their ability to craft infectious, dancefloor-ready rhythms made them sought-after collaborators across West Africa.
As recording artists in their own right, DopeNation released their first single “Bebia Ye Shi” in 2016, followed by “Uh Huh” in 2017 and the breakthrough track “Eish” in 2018. They later pioneered a sound they call Ghanapiano, blending South African amapiano’s laid-back grooves with Ghanaian highlife and hiplife.
Their 2022 track “Gboza” and the subsequent Ghanapiano EP and full album helped popularise the hybrid style. More recent releases include the massive “Kakalika,” a high-energy anthem that has fuelled dance challenges and become a summer favourite, as well as tracks such as “Today,” “Zenabu” and “Gb33.”
The Saarbrücken date forms part of the duo’s broader European activity. Earlier in 2026 they announced a “Kakalika Summer” tour that took them through several German cities, the UK, Italy and Austria. Performing in smaller or mid-sized venues across the continent has allowed them to connect directly with diaspora communities and new European fans discovering Ghanaian music.
Saarbrücken, the capital of Saarland near the French border, has a diverse population and an active nightlife scene that regularly hosts international acts, making it a fitting stop for an Afro-centric party.
For the Ghanaian and African diaspora in Germany, nights like this offer more than entertainment. They create spaces where language, dance and rhythm from home can be celebrated far from Accra or Lagos.
DopeNation’s live shows are known for their high energy, call-and-response interaction and seamless mix of their own hits with the production style that first made them famous.
Audiences can expect heavy bass, amapiano-infused beats and the signature “kakalika” dance energy the twins have been promoting.

The event also highlights the continuing global reach of Ghanaian music. While Afrobeats from Nigeria has dominated international charts in recent years, Ghanaian acts and producers have steadily expanded their footprint through distinctive sounds such as hiplife, highlife fusions and the newer Ghanapiano wave.
DopeNation’s dual identity as both hitmakers for others and successful artists themselves positions them uniquely within that movement.Tickets and further details are being promoted through the group’s social channels and local organisers.
Public Reaction
Fans in the Saarbrücken area and nearby cities are encouraged to arrive early, as club-style events of this nature often fill quickly once word spreads. The twins’ booking contacts remain active for additional European dates, suggesting this stop may not be their last on the continent this year.
As Friday approaches, anticipation continues to build. From their beginnings producing beats in Accra student halls to commanding stages across Europe, B2 and Twist have turned twin synergy into a powerful musical brand.

This weekend in Saarbrücken, German audiences will get a direct taste of that energy when DopeNation steps under the lights and invites everyone to kakalika.
