Cletus Avoka To Bow Out Of Politics In 2024

Hon Cletus Avoka, a long-serving member of Parliament for the good people of Zebilla Constituency, has announced that he will be bowing out of politics in 2024, after serving for a total of 24 years.

The news comes as a surprise to many, especially his constituents, as Hon Avoka has been an important figure in political landscape of the country for many years, and has played a key role in the country’s political affairs.

The Lawmaker’s decision to retire marks the end of an era for the people of Zebilla and the country as a whole. According to the him, he will not be contesting the Zebilla seat in the 2024 elections.

Speaking at a youth wing meeting in his constituency, the Zebilla MP thanked constituents for the support given him thus far.

“At the end of 2024, I would have done 24 years in Parliament. I want to take this opportunity to thank my constituents. Formally Bawku West and now Zebilla Constituency.

“You have been so loyal to me, so serviceable to me, You have supported me, you have reposed confidence in me and so this is my fifth term in Parliament.”

According to the lawmaker who doubles as lawyer, he lost the elections on two occasions but have won on six occasions. “So my decision is that come December 2024 I will not contest again,” he announced.

The Zebilla MP stressed that he had contributed his quota to the main opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC).

Political Career

Hon Cletus Avoka began his political career in 2000, when he was elected as a Member of Parliament for the Zebilla constituency. He has been re-elected to the position in every election since then, and has become one of the most respected and influential members of parliament.

The lawyer quickly established himself as a hardworking MP, who is always eager to serve his constituents. Throughout his tenure, the member of parliament has been known for his hard work, dedication, and commitment to the people of his constituency.

Throughout his career, Hon Avoka has been a strong advocate for the rights of the marginalized and vulnerable, and has worked tirelessly to improve the lives of the people of Zebilla. He has been a key player in the development of his constituency, and has been instrumental in bringing a range of social and economic development projects to the area.

For example, he has played a vital role in the construction of numerous schools and hospitals in the constituency, which have greatly improved the access to education and healthcare for the people of Zebilla.

In addition to his work in the constituency, Hon Avoka has also made a significant contribution to the broader political landscape in Ghana. He has been a key member of various parliamentary committees and has played a prominent role in shaping the country’s laws and policies. He has been a member of the Local Government and Rural Development committee, the Communications committee, and the Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation committee.

The lawmaker’s contributions in these committees have been instrumental in the passage of many laws and policies that have impacted the lives of the people positively. lawyer Avoka has also been a vocal advocate for transparency, good governance, and accountability in the public sector.

The MP has been a strong critic of corruption and has been a key player in efforts to improve transparency and accountability in government. This has earned him the respect and admiration of many, and he has become a shining example of integrity and honesty in the political landscape of Ghana.

The news of Avoka’s retirement has met with sadness and disappointment by many of his supporters, who have appreciated his contributions to the country’s political and economic development.
