NDC should be marching for the SADA guinea fowls, not for probity and accountability- Bawumia

Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has criticized the National Democratic Congress’s claims on probity and accountability march in honor of the late former president Jerry John Rawlings, intimating that they should be marching for the infamous “SADA guinea fowls”.

According to Dr. Bawumia, their act smacks of “hypocrisy and dishonesty”, as they are pretentiously displaying their affinity to the late former president.

“Today after the death of the former President, Jerry John Rawlings, may his soul rest in peace, they (NDC) are now saying that they are marching in his honour for probity and accountability. Where was the probity and accountability when they were chopping the SADA money?

“They should be marching for the SADA guinea fowls, not for probity and accountability – that’s the march they should be doing, and we will see what accountability they have given. They should be marching for the bus branding scandal. They should be marching for the Airbus scandal. That is the probity and accountability Ghanaians want to see.”

Recounting other incidence of complicity, he noted the countless number of occasions he reckons the NDC leadership disrespected the late Jerry Rawlings when he was alive.

“When John Rawlings was alive, they were not marching for probity and accountability. They were rather disrespecting him. They were calling him the barking dog, the Volta dog. Isn’t that the case? They were disrespecting him, and they got babies with sharp teeth to attack him.”

“Today, now that he is dead, they are saying they are marching for probity and accountability. Their march should be named the march for hypocrisy and dishonesty. That is the match they should be marching, hypocrisy and dishonesty.”

Speaking at the commissioning of classrooms and a dormitory block at Yendi Senior High School, he urged the public and students to massively vote for the NPP government.

“The government of Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo is the government that is delivering on its promises. Without the government of Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, we will not have Free SHS education.”

Meanwhile, the Vice President has commissioned the Tolon District Hospital to cap his final day on his three-day tour of the Northern Region.

The 60-bed hospital for the Tolon District is one of the six medical facility projects that began three years ago.

Speaking to the chiefs and people of Tolon, he asserted that the NPP isfulfilling its promises as against the propaganda being churned out.

“Today’s event is a testament to the fact that truth crawls, but will always triumph over falsehood.

“All of these facilities are practically complete and will be inaugurated one after the other by the close of the year, 2020. The President, has already inaugurated the 60-Bed Ultra-Modern District Hospital at Wheta in the Ketu North District on 20th October, 2020. The rest will follow soon.”

He further noted that, the interventions made by Government in the health sector have been timely, particularly on the back of COVID-19 pandemic.

“We would have succumbed to the devastating effect of the outbreak of the Coronavirus pandemic, but for skillful management of the pandemic by the Ghana Health Service and the health workers.

“Indeed, together with all Health workers and the support of our traditional leaders and other key stakeholders, we have demonstrated our outstanding commitment to promoting the health and well-being of all residents in Ghana. We shall continue to sustain our agenda of building a robust, resilient and sustainable health care system for current and future generations.”
